if you are low on cash

trim the fat on the car

take out anything that you dont need or want in the car,

you can push it off a cliff, maybe vertically it'll do better from 0-60 than it does horizontally. no offense, mine is slow as well..
Well...with low on funds, depending on exactly how low you are, I'm not sure. What edo did was rebuild his engine, port and polish, the works, which should give him an hp gain of approx. 50 hp. But then again that was a 2000 dollar project which isn't as much as a swap, but still pricey, esp. for someone "low on funds". I definitely feel for ya dude, I have a manual '94 that I took on the back roads yesterday and drove the **** out of it!!! But it just wasn't as fun w/o the performance stuff. Really, all ST's are really good for w/o a serious rebuild or swap is cornering (consider you've put on performance springs, struts, etc.) Because the handling on any 6th gen is friggin' wonderful! But I've come to accept that mines slow, and hence, when I get the funds, I'm sellin' it to Clipsetuner and buying a GT, and then saving up more funds to rebuild the engine, etc. It's a wonderful thing to rebuild the engine. haha, but otherwise man, not gonna have much luck. I don't even think w/ an ST that it'd be a really good idea turboing it w/o replacing some internals w/ some aftermarket parts man. So really, if I were you, and you don't have the money for a GT or a swap or rebuild, just stick w/ looks, mad style, and great sound system. It's the nice cars that get the honey's, not the fast ****ty ones.

You could convert over to manual for around $800-1,000 I think. Also, I hear that you can get some gains from an underdrive pulley.

New Toyota project coming soon...
yea you could get a nitro kit. that going to make you go pretty fast, and its fun. what does an underive pully do? and how will make you car drive vs without it?
you can buy a fast car.
yeh man just go nitrious 50 shot should be good enough
from what ive seen you can gain 7-8hp at the flywheel from a underdrive pully. or you could just lighten the stock one. either way i rank a underdrive pully right up there with intake and exaust. and its like a little over a 100 if you look hard.

Don't lighten your flywheel, coomer has explained this, it is bad to do that. Buy one.
