What non-toyota engines would be good swaps that would actually work in a 6gc? Has anyone ever did a non-toyota swap? I wanted to do a search on this so I don't get flamed. I tried a couple of searches but can't really find nothing ( guess I can't find any good phrases for the search ). I'm sure someone has thought of this though. BTW Its not anything I am going to do its just something that came to mind.

Zipstrips was thinking of going with a SR20DE I think. Any non-Toyota swap into a Celica is gonna be pretty tough...I've seen a RB26DETT in a JZA80, and a F20C in an AE86, but they both required quite a bit of custom work. >

if not that, then try a DSM (4ag63 or w/e it is) motor...but it'd be cheaper to buy a DSM and go fast.

I always liked the idea of dropping a V8 in a gen 6, just love the V8 engine sound.

Yeah, the ST205 engine would be easy to get hold of. Some might say it would be better to just trade up to a GT4 for the money it would cost to install though. A good GT4 cost around $10,000 - my GT worth about $6,000 trade in.
Plus I'd rather go with the V8 for the rarity value. >

I'm saying though, that if you're going to do the V8, you should use the ST205 chassis to begin with. >>

i think i've heard of an s2000 engine in a celica.....personnally i won't mind that engine.....its good for a forced induction setup and can make good power and torque i think i'd be faster than a 3sgte but i could be wrong...although its more expensive way

The best toyota with a foreign motor i've seen was a AE86 with a mazda 3 rotor and rx7 drive line. Thats my dream as soon as i get out of college.
You might be able to squeeze in a VW motor into a celica i've done a few VW swaps and the size of the motors and how they bolt up is quite similar. 170hp(stock) 1.8T or maby even 180hp VR6. Both of which turboed can see 400whp easily.

I've heard of people running turbo setups on their stock AE101 silvertop 4A-GEs for years though...usually the reason why the turbo setup doesn't last too long is because people get the boost bug, swap out the stock pistons for 4A-GZE pistons, and then run more pounds of boost. >>

your kidding me right?!? don't force induction a s2000 motor?!?!?!!? were have you been.....almost every person that i've seen with an s2000 around the scene in DC and in magazines do turbos......some i have seen even supercharge..but from what i've heard is that the engine handles force induction like a dream and it was built to hold the stress......not that i'm defending honda's here but that engine is nice in the car maybe not in a celica but if you Force feed it....expect to be GREAT

No sir. As discussed before, the LS1 doesn't weight more then about 50lbs more then the 13b. Now, the placement does throw off the balance. But the FC would retein it's 50/50 weight disturbtion. If coilovers, or even a fine spring/shock combo were installed, I'm sure the FC would have no problem taking turns.

i've heard of ae86's with chevy v8's, and one with a rotary engine swap (mazda), and of the 5th gen celica w/ rwd, and twin turbo v8
