I just wanted to know the average price of installing a body kit? Or is it possible to do it myself? Thanks for any info.

Well I paid 250 for my front piece installed but i could have prob have gotton the wholse thing on and painted for 600.
I wouldnt recommend doing it yourself, jsut let the body shop peeps do it thats their job.

i got a quote from a place that was ~$300 to fit and paint my front bumper. i might try and do it myself, i mean c'mon $300!! my friend who's taking auto class in school is gonna paint it for me, too. but i dunno, it doesn't look like its gonna be a perfect fit so i might just have the shop fit it, and i'll paint it myslef. >

Let's say you find a full Shogun on EBay for 400 bucks. Add 200 for paint, maybe 400-800 for install depending if it they have to mod it or anything. I'd say for a full body kit your going to run from about 800 as high as 1800 dollars for an amazing install paint job and the works.
Front bumper is pretty popular, I've been thinking about it...but that's the first place that's going to get chipped and stuff you know?

VERY TRU mines already got chipped twice and I have only had it about a month!

Is there anything to put on the front bumper to keep from chipping? Like a super clear coat or something?

yep, a good shop will add plenty of flex additive to the paint so that it won't chip. that and several clear coats will keep you from having to repair it every time something hits your fender.

I have replaced mine 3x's in the last 2 years.
Lucky for me when I got my kit I made molds of all the pieces so I can replace them whenever they break.
Painting and fitting them yourself isnt that hard.. just takes a little time. just go slow and only do a little bit then stop for a while. that way you don't get frustrated and mess anything up.

800 to 1k for a GOOD bodyshop in most cases for a 4 piece kit with a less than great fit (which a $400 4 piece kit will more than likely be)... i wouldnt recomend doing the install yourself if you havent worked with fiberglass before, but if you have then by all means...

tkaing it off is pretty easy if you knwo where all the bolts are, jsut have a friend when your taking it off, cuz its hard lining up things, but mine only took me about 3 hrous to take everyhting off and put it on
It's not very hard to fit it. It does take 3 people to be safe. Just mark the holes and drill.
I saw you were asking if there was anything you can get so it wouldn't chip or crack i am not sure the name of the company i will have too look it up and see but there are these like plates that bolt on to your front bumper they are made out of carbon fiber and you drill 2 holes and stick these 2 wires throw the holes and that why when you scrap or what ever you don't hurt your kit and it makes it look kind of more sporty you really can't tell it is there they had one i think on the eclipse on the fast and the furious or it is on one of the main cars

Ok when i finally get my kit i'm getting that, cause you can never have to much protection. I also wanted to know if they only make this for the front bumper or can you get it for the sides too.
