Trade for an all-trac??? - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #15961 28 posts Started by snadman
I need some advice. I found a 92 All-Trac with nice rims, very clean, and only 87k miles. It is for 3500 but the guy said he'd trade straight up for my car...what ya think? Should I do it? The all-trac runs mint, idles nice, handles great, and takes off like a demon besides I'm in love with AWD Turbos. My celi now is a 95 GT with a little over 127k miles. I'm guessing he'd sell mine for more but at the moment I don't have the cash (Rex payment and insurance) so I'd either have to sell my car or trade to him. I could get more than 3500 i think for mine but it might take sometime to get a buyer and by then the all-trac may be sold. Help please I need advice.

**** i would trade it in a heart beat.. but why would he want to trade to a slower car thats only 2wd alos with more miles.. sounds a lil odd to me..
LOAN!! do NOT trade out
I'd have toyota check it out before I traded, then I'd trade.

an all-trac celica is very very rare nowadays. I would definitely trade my celica for an AWD 3SGTE TURBO!!
He would trade cuz he knows my perdicament that it could be too little too late by the time I actually sell my car his may be gone so by him trading to my car he will get more money in the long run but will take longer for him to get it. He actually just bought a brand new WRX so that was cool and that is why he is selling the all-trac.

Tomorrow he is taking it with me to the local Toyota dealership and I have an "in" there so they are checking it out for free. If everything comes out clean I will visit the bank and see what they say. Maybe I'll even gull the balls to ask my parents for money or something...hell I still live under their roof they should know my car can sell for more than that. Especially around here. I got offered 4600 the other day.

The thing is nice...new clutch new brakes. I will be confused each day...ok which 200+ hp AWD boosted car to drive today? Hmmm...need for the Eclipse anymore? lol

**EDIT**
Anyone want to make an offer on my Clipse?

If you're gonna take a loan, then just use the loan money and do a motor swap. Forget 5th gen.

The alltrac is still more reliable and he gets AWD AND he can do easy mods to make it J-spec. Aside from the ceramic turbo, swap to a JDM ecu and block of the EGR, boom JDM.

As long as it check out ok i'd trade, its a friggin 3sgte for heavens sake.

if the engine didnt have any problems, i would definitely trade. Get the VIN number and carfax it, make sure the mileage is right.
yo, you better decide quick dude. Cause i'll drive up there and buy it.
K going now to get it checked out. Carfax was good.

EDIT
I also asked my parents, they have money from a Home Improvement loan they would be willing to borrow me until I sold my car. I think I may sell my Eclipse as well and maybe finish paying the REX off with money to spare.

Go for the AWD >smile.gif>
You can raise the boost very easy, you have better handling and its a classic model. No 2nd thoughts.
Why not sell your eclipse and keep both celi's?
DEAR SWEET GOD YES!

have you ever driven an alltrac?

i did, I LOVED IT

granted, the one i drove was lowered and had GAB? 4 way adjustable shocks, HKS cams, reprogrammed ECU, FMIC, HKS SSQV, HKS exhaust and some downpipe.

it hauled ass, and only at stock boost, the clutch was slipping, so he had the boost turned down.

but yea, ditch the eclipse, and buy the alltrac, get a loan if need be and pay it off when u sell one of the other cars.

Alright, this whole situation is good. I will have a much lessened budget in the long run. I am putting the Eclipse for sale. It was a fun car but only for looks really, yeah it was quick but nothing beats an AWD Boosted car. I am going to "keep" my 6GC for a bit and I am helping my little brother fix the front bumper damage so then I can sell it to him. Keeping the Rex and All-Trac. Pictures to come. I will still be a 6GC lover and a semi-owner as the car will be parked in my driveway...just not "mine" anymore. Thanks guys for helping and I'm really glad I don't have to fully sell the white celi cuz it was my very first car and I love her still....though I can't really call her mine anymore she's still in my driveway to look at and remember all the good times I had in that car (best time of doing the horizontal mambo of my life)...and some of the bad (95 in a 65 speeding ticket). See ya all around for sure!

>confused.gif> you really need two boosted awd's?

i'd sell the eclipse in a heartbeat, and swap a 3SGTE into the celica you got, then you'll have your WRX AWD Turbo beast and a Nice looking, 3SGTE powered Turbo Celica...

but thats just me >biggrin.gif>, good luck w/ the all trac!

Heres what I would do.

Sell the Eclipse and buy the All-trac, which you already plan on doing. Then, keep your WRX and you can trade me the All-Trac for my GT 5spd, with all factory options. >wink.gif> Pleeeaaasseee.... >frown.gif>
