best thing to do is buy a multimeter. then you can start testing what wires get 12v when you turn your headlights on. for my gauges i taped into the light that goes around the sig lighter.

what guages did u buy?

15PSI - 30MPG - Megasquirt Tuned
I hooked mine up to the red wire for the sterio. That wire powes when you turn the car on. Mine light up fine. For the Volt gauge I just ran a wire off the battery so I can watch my voltage at all times (when the carns not running and the sterio is on).

J-
Green wire at the dimmer I think. That is a positive and only gets power when the parking lights are turned on.

simple, easy, and right next to the gauges... w00t!

New Toyota project coming soon...
Another easy (and awesome >wink.gif> ) way is to hook it up to your ignition. Then they light up the second you turn the key.
I would think park lights (Dimmer) would be easy (and practical) like batman said, since your stock gauges only turn on when your lights are on, which makes sense to me. my 0.02

I ran mine to the dimmer switch. It just made sense to me so that they come on when my headlights are turned on. :-)

hook it it up to your illumination wire on the stero on the aftermarket harness.
well all that is tricky stuff guys. heres what ya do theres a bunch of lil light behind the guage pannel. pull out the pannel as a whole. there should be a green palstic computer board on the back of it. pull out a light(black palstic plug) put the wire in the hole. make sure the wire is conecting with the copper toned circle that the light goes in. put the light back in.. and bam now anytime you start the car lights go on you wont blow anything and you dont have to run alot of wire.
