Lowering - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #16253 15 posts Started by Shigexile
I'm getting my car lowered pretty soon and i just wanted to know how much i should drop the car. Here are some of the things to keep in mind >wink.gif>

1. stock wheels
2. no body kit
3. cheap coilovers
4. KYB GR-2 Gas struts (maybe but most likely)
5. some bumpy roads where i live
6. usually drive pretty slow
7. don't want too low but want to get rid of the gap between the tires and body
8. have huge gap between the very top of the tire to the closest part of the body that is 8cm in the front and 6cm in the back. (F 3in, R 2.5in)

So yeah, how much will you guys lower your car? i not experienced with suspension so i need experts suggestions. Thanks guys >biggrin.gif> >biggrin.gif>

I have stock wheels, no body kit, and i was looking for the same thing you are. I went with the sportline springs and kyb struts. It pretty much got rid of the gap, and it lowered it about an inch and a half

Blinky you said that it will not be a good combination but shouldn't the struts help me reduce the bounce?

im just saying cheap coilovers with a bumpy road wouldnt be that great.. coilovers would already probably a bumpy ride anyways. and yea, the struts should help that a little.

Go with the Sportlines. Many people on here love them, and to me they look a little lower than an inch and a half which i think makes them look perfect with a nice set of wheels.

check out my profile to see sportlines with 17s on.

dont pay any attention to the 1.5in drop that they spec. it looks a lot lower then that.

id say, get a 1in pro kit for a nice drop and a 1.5in sportlines for an extreme drop.

Allright i got some specs on the gap. In the front there is a gap of 8cm (about 3in ) from the highest part of the wheel to the closest part of the body. In the back it is 6cm (about 2 and a half in ). How much do you think i need to lower now?

just get the sportlines .. you'll love em, the only problem i have, is I would like the fornt bto be a lil lower, but I also like the look of a car with a 3 inch drop.. but the ride is way to low.
