Thanks Ghost and fastgt...Its amazing how awsome it feels to dream for so long about getting a 3s, and then after putting so much work into it, finally getting to reap the rewards!

J- I've been driving it since sunday...haha I've put 400miles on it already. It runs like an absolute champ... It was basically overhauled (seals, gaskets, cleaned up, etc) before it was put in so its definately healthy =) I almost cried the first time I hit boost... its a feeling you would never expect to come from a celica. I havnt taken it over 4k rpms yet (but even up to that point it definately puts you in your place:D) just to be sure everything is working strongly... a few more miles and I'll get to fully feel what she's made of!

Oh, I love that response. I am picking my baby up Friday and am hoping to feel that same thing. Congrats again.

That's awesome! Congratulations! >biggrin.gif>

Next time I'm in Portland you'll definitely have to give me a ride. >tongue.gif>

New Toyota project coming soon...
Yeah that is the OEM MR2 BPV... It sounds pretty awsome... it sounds more like a star wars laser gun than a blow off valve...haha I love it. It is actaully pretty noticable because if you look in the picture it is recirculating directly into the AFM... which means it is right by the filter. I'll get some sound clips up soon...haha seriously you'll be amazed at what it sounds like.

Coomer... get your ass down here and lets go for a cruise... bring Natalie too cause I missed out on your guys' meet that was here a month or so ago... now that my car is working we should do that again! I STILL HAVNT SEEN THE 4A!
Nice...

but, why did you take your spoiler off?

most of the peole here dont know this, but doge and i got our clips from the same seller. doge actually saw mine and his clip in person and had to flip a coin to figure out what one to buy cause they were bowth is great shape. he sarted his swap a few weeks before me, but didnt finish till now, thats why i was worried that something went wrong.

doge, send me all the swap pics you got. i want to see everything!

Congrats man, its looking really good!
Hahaha... yeah me and Lagos are brothers now... I was in a whole heap of sh*t until I got my car to that shop though. Without them I dont know what I would have done. They explained as well as showed me everything there is to know about this engine...I can confidentally say I know the 3s inside and out now..haha... which is a great feeling if anything does happen to go wrong. I'm loving every minute of it. To bad we are across the country from eachother lagos... oh well... I guess we represent both coasts

KO downpipe is made by KO racing. Here is the website:

KO Racing

They also make the famed street brawler turbo upgrade kit for the 3sgte which has been dynoed to in excess of 500 whp.

way to utilize the MR2 aftermarket! >smile.gif> KO is an EXCELLENT company, though them and ATS seem to bicker back and fourth at who puts out the better product, you cant go wrong with either of them.

to answer a few questions, yea, his MR2 BPV is recirced, which that unit MUST be recirced because the way it works. it not only opens to vent off pressure build up between the turbine and throttlebody, but it also is open during vac to allow air to bypass the turbo and into the engine, allowing for a more steady idle and increased airflow in vac. hence "bypass valve". if it is not recirced, unmetered air will enter into the engine at idle and slowly cause the car to lean out to a stall.

and the street brawler kit has only made in the 400s as far as horsepower at the wheels, but never-the-less it is a sweet kit that was put togeather to be a cost effective way to get a ton of potential out of the MR2 and the 3sgte motor itself.

my 4 favorite places to get MR2/3sgte parts at: TwosRus, Torquefreaks/horsepowerfreaks, ATS, and KO... you cant go wrong with any of them for the 3sgte.

your car looks great and its nice to see you enjoying everything you went through to get it there! is there any plans for a FMIC, hood scoop, or WAIC??

Believer, you'll leave her, in leaving them allNo but I don't buy itLike anything you do, as anyone you areCause I'm...Ten Speed, of God's Blood & Burial
Yeah I want to stay sleeper style so the techs that helped with my swap are gonna do an st185 style scoop on my hood... I'm in the c-one hood GB so i dont really care if they screw it up. They are good with fiberglass though so I'm pretty confident that it will look awesome... for some reason I just love the low profile look of the 5th gen gt4 hood. After that all I'll need are some ST emblems and I'll be set! >biggrin.gif> >biggrin.gif> >biggrin.gif>
constider a fmic, because even with the hood scoop, the stock intercooler sucks. it sits right ontop of a hot engine and does nothing but heatsoak that IC at idle. if you dont want a fmic, then maby look around for the st205 cooler.
