Like the topic says. This morning when I went to start up my car to go to school, I cn't hear my muffler. WTF?? Is there something loose. Its not making any noise. Sounds like stock. I just got the universal muffler installed about 2 weeks ago.
Can you feel exhaust gas coming out of it when the car is on? Is it loud at wide-open-throttle?

New Toyota project coming soon...
what kind what dimensions and whered you get it from?

Sound is just exactly like how the stock muffler sounded when it used to be on my car. When I got the muffler installed 2 weeks ago it sounded very nice. This morning I don't know what was up. It didn't make any sound except for engine sound.

2.25" Inlet, 4" outlet, 14" whole muffler, It was just a no name brand I got from circuit city.

My friend has one on his 5th gen celica and it is much louder than mine. Why is this? are the pipings in the 5th gen different size than the 6th gen? Well now my car doesn't make any sound. I think I'm just go get it checked out at the local exhaust shop.
Stay away form Steez !

I will return one day.
this makes no sense to me...
any exhaust should make noise.
if you put aftermarket you are killing restriction and not bouncing the sound waves into eachother to deminish them into a low sound.

if a something went front w/ the muffler(hole or whatnot) there should be a deep sound...this is kinda why a lot of old beater cars sound like they're packing something, they get a hole in the muffler from backing into a slope or w/e and puncture the muffler.

if you only installed an aftermarket i dont know what else could happen.

if they didn't install it properly and there is a leak from the piping to the muffler i would imagine it to get a bit quester, unless a hole...then louder?

basically, get a gReddy SP2 cat-back, or get a name-brand universal, and get some 2.25" piping made...mendrel bent
Doesn't make any sense to me. It seems that if something wasn't connected securely and caused a leak somewhere, you'd be able to hear it. The only thing I can suggest which was mentioned earlier is to feel for the exhaust coming out. Have you noticed any sort of power loss since your muffler problem?
what kinda odd thing is that if you have a leak shouldn't it be loud and have a loss in torque. maybe it just cam undone at the primary cat or even maybe it's loose at the manfold.
