Its good looking.

Remove all the glass and wear goggles and a helmet.

Did you say you already got a Fiberglass hood?

Bore you block out, put in aluminum forged pistons, piston arms, aluminum heads. that'll get a little bit of weight.

Remove the bumper, but leave the cover on.
Remove all emblems.
Remove your window regulator and lock your windows in the up position.
Remove your rear windshield wiper.

Switch your driver seat with the passenger seat or find a seat that isnt powered.

Remove Power Steering
Remove your gas shocks.
Remove your brake rotors and calipers.
Oh yea, remove the stereo, speakers, wiring, ect.

Yeah, thats it.
some of them are serious, others are not.

Have fun.

daily driver = gutted - False.

hope u'r friends like riding in a nice comfy nothing
Just get a goddamn motorcycle
400 pounds is a lot. My AE86 is totally gutted with JDM bumpers and it only lost about 200 pounds (most of that with the JDM bumpers weighing less than 1/2 of the USDM ones)... down to just under 2000 pounds with 1/2 tank of gas.

Did you happen to simply subtract the weight of the old stuff without adding in the weight of the new "lighter" equipment? Happens alot when people do weight reduction...

Anyways... unless this is gonna your project car and you're gonna go all out race... I think you're crazy. A nice comfortable driver is much better than a weekend racecar. Tis my love affair with my Celica.

well yea the 400 pounds is a total loss like over the whole shell. lighter parts in the whole car. in terms of comfort i love it... my girlfriend is in colorado and isnt coming out here for months. so i just race it in the canyons all night its great. and theres no way in hell im goin to bring a passenger into the canyons with me.
ewwwww your car is an auto! put all that stuff back in! Buy an old corolla or something and gut it, make sure its 5speed too!
The douche is here to give his 2 cents.

Light weight is great idea. And if you can bare the eye sore, more power to you. Do I think he lost 400lbs? more like 100-150lbs.

I'll back up Anderson, my GT will beat you too. Twisties? Bring it. You have sprint springs as far as I can see. Mine are Tom's and I ride on Eagle F1 gs-d3's, some of the best tires on the market. You pick your posion.

Also, do you know what your aftermarket rotors and wheels weigh?

Airbags are easy to pull out. And lightweight steering wheel isn't a bad idea. When I put my sparco in, i was pretty surprised. THe stock has to be almost double the weight of the sparco. IM me sometime, I'll walk you through removing your airbags. Raziel215

yes my car is an auto. and i lose about 10 hp becasue of it. but its all gained back to due driving skill. i dont drive in straight lines and i shift my auto perfectly fine. i find it easier espeacially when driving cross country.

i know i already took out the ac system, and most of the bs plastic stuff. but the 7a auto tranny i dunno there somthing about it its a liltte beast.
and it also weighs alot. theres a big difference between the weight of a manual and auto trans.

and last time i check plastic doesnt weigh anything. maybe 100 pounds was lost but i doubt anymore then that. and most of the weight is comming from your spare tire.

also if you disconnect your hazards button then your turnsignals wont work >biggrin.gif>

hows it taste motha f*cka
haha not to bust your balls like everyone else, But I just striped the back of my car, including spare, and weighed them nad only got about 25 lbs .. that was manly the spare .. Theres no reason to loose anything, def in an auto. Also unless the auto was designed to auto/sport ****, theres not mush of a reason, In my bimmer there was a dif, I couldd switch it, and the ecu let it rev another 1500 , but that was my bimmer, not a celi..

by the way, I would prolly spank you with my car, and the interior and subs in it. >rolleyes.gif>

hahah the spare only weighs 15 pounds. umm yea im not lookin to race. and if you did remove everything ...that means all the seats except yours, and all plastic, door pannels, a/c system, all the sound proofing mats underneath the carpet, the 2 rear speakes, the celling, all the mud guards and other palstics on the extieor, got after market rims weighing in at 14 pounds each including the tire, buy aftermarket headers out of thinner steel replacing the original cast ones.,and any other spare wires and electrical stuff. you will achive 400 pounds. and no you wont smoke me. i beat st's all the time by at least 3 car lengths. and i have an st.
so there you have it. i wil get everyone a very detailed list including weight next month.

hmm well since i beat my friend 3 times by 3 car lengths each time i guess that doesnt say much. and since i actually did get a header made of thinner steel well that doesnt say much either. every little ounce counts all the wires and the spare thats right!!! i have no idea what tires your buying but they dont weigh even close to 14 pounds. maybe you should study a little bit more before you call someone out. i know your going off your information which is great casue you have alot of it. you should really think before you say someone is blowing smoke. espeacially me cause i only speak the truth. theres no point in lying. but were both very opinionated. which is great. and lets just leave it at that. casue were just butting heads. and id rather keep this sight a helpful friendly site. not a bashing and im right your wrong.

so i guess we wil have to go on then. as fo rme beating st's i did it before i gutted my interior, and before i put my headers, on and before i got my exhaust. i never race in a striahgt line. and i will beat you in a track!!. i used to race shifter carts. as for your knowledge, like i said before you have alot of it and i respect that. and i would prefer if you didnt insult my skills. it makes you look like a weaker man. once again i never said my celi was an ass kicker. i just said i could beat most st's because of my mods and driving capability. so thank you.....i tried to end this feud but you had to continue. oh one more thing, how do you know for a fact that i will not come close to beating an other st's on this board. have you ever seen me drive ???
oh great another Kwanza vs another member again..
..um... carry on

[color=#FF0000] I MISS MY RED BABY =(
Shady allow me to tell you something. Don't aruge with Kwanza. He probably the most knowledgable person this board. He's worked around racing for many years and I've never seen him show any signs of not knowing what he's talking about. Also, he kinda ran a 16.1 in his ST (w/ slicks tho). Sh!t, my best is 16.5 in my GT. And look at my mods.

Bottom line, a lot of the stuff you've done won't help. And driver skill doesn't help much when you have an auto. If you have a manual, you could downshift into turns, launch, rev-match, ect. I still say I and Kwanza could easily own you. Drag or twisties. You just have springs. It's not that big of a deal

yes it does take skill even with an auto. let me show you how..... so your flyin down the stretch doin about 70. theres a 25 mph turn coming up so you pop it into gear 2 (only have 3 with o/d). you tap brakes once wait for the tranny to kick in and slow you down. so now your going into the 25 mph turn at 60, you cut the wheel and accelerrate in the apex, becasue your in gear 2 you have more tourque. as your coming out of the turn you shift it back to drive. and punch it. that my friend requires skill. cause if you dont do that you fly off the hill and die.
If you just drop your car by one Inch you can make that turn at 70MPH without doing anything. No skills required, just balls.
You would also need the stablizer bar, which ST dont have. You should get one, just add about 4 lbs.
i did drop my car. and i do have strut bars. but i want ot get sway bars i dunno how much they will help though?? but you need all wheel drive to take the 25's at 70. at least on my "track" a.k.a. cali canyon's.
you're suppose to acclerate coming outta the turn. Let your momentum take you the first half thro
