Like I said, Will an Auto ECU work with a manual tranny?? Im asking because If I decide to swap, or sell it, Its an Auto tranny an most likly will be swaping towards an manual tranny.. SO Will I need a Manual Ecu?? Im kinda lost, an im asking is because I seemed to have found a good deal on one..
Oh and my buddie said he wasnt sure, but said that for mazdas ( the cars he works on) the only dif he knows of is the auto one has a brain for the auto tranny an thats it.. but i have no clue.

yes, you need a manual ecu for a manual car.

From what I've heard...you DO need the ECU from the manual..but I'm not 100% sure...

I am not an expert but have been advised that you can use the auto ECU if you do a manual tranny swap. You can't go the other way though.

You can use the AUTO ecu but it may leave you with a constant CEL...

My car has been swapped to a 5-speed. It still uses a auto ecu. There has been a CEL (From a bad O2 sensor tho). The only thing the auto causes is the OD light to flash after 60ish miles or so.
