Topic #16933 11 posts Started by hyp3rk1d
hmm iam changing them now and i unbolted the bracket and the bar just fell down like an inch and now i cant get it back up to bolt the new bushing.. What am i missing?? Do i have to unbolt both brackets or do one at a time?? help.. I cant push the sway bar back up!
front or rear swaybar ? it should bolt up with out a problem.

do you see anything in the way ?

I will return one day.
you have to either unbolt the swaybar from the arm or jack up the tire a little.

I will return one day.
I am guessing that he is talking about the rear bar since the front one sits on top of the frame, and the rear below it. I think that he probably did not disconnect the sway bar from the strut before removing the bracket for the bushing.

Like the poster above mentioned, you are going to have to disconnect the sway bar or jack the wheel up.
the wheel is jacked up??? so now what?
ok got it.. me and my friend managed to squeeze underneath w.o ne jacks and now no clunk Noise.. YEA >tongue.gif> also it took more than 5 mins lol
Do you have photos of the bushing that you replaced? Is it the one that connects the very end of the sway bar to the end link?

Also, where'd you get the bushings from?

New Toyota project coming soon...

If you look under the rear of your car you will find the sway bar.. Almost at the end of the sway bar is a bracket that is holding the bushing to the car.. Unbolt it, take off the old bushing, spray some WD-40 on the bracket, put the new bushing on the car, bolt it back up...

I got it from Advanced Auto Parts for like 4.29 a piece...

If you dont have one around you go to their website, www.partsamerica.com
wd40 is bad it eats away at it. use vegetable oil instead.
yea, those new sway bar mount bushings make a BIG diffrence, especially if you do the fronts & rears...when i did mine, i was quite shocked at the improvment in handling..now i need to do those end-links REAL bad..hehe >wink.gif>
