what would i have to do?

~Daniel~ No Longer Celica Owner.. moved on to a 03 WRX-EJ207
Nice lil' box...

Quick question... have read several studies that most subwoofers sound better when placed against the seats facing the trunk... have you tuned the box for correct distance to the driver's seat? Are you running multiple subs or just one?

Nice work, nonetheless.

that looks great.

a short how-to would be in order now.
i have 2 10w6's i need a good spot for, and that looks like a great spot.

That is one of the best ones Iv seen in the celi's, just cause its nice and clean, an seems to flow with the panels, But the sub's will sound a lot better reflecting towards the back.. Im sill trying to find a design I Like, Once i do I will start. It has somthing Ive been wanting to do foe awhile.
well im not really too concerned about the sound of it.. I want just a little over stock.. I personally HATE loud systems >wink.gif>

That and I'm gonna get rid of this setup in a few months newayz cus sub and amp isnt even mine >biggrin.gif>

I am working on the amp one right now so will post a couple pics of the process for you guys as I move along with the project tonight.. plan on finishing it all in the next 2 hrs so stay tuned >tongue.gif>

here is what I have done so far

this is the area my amp will be mounted on

Sorry I didnt take pics of the prepwork.. basically I removed the panel and sprayed it with pam cooking spray. I then covered it with aluminim foil, paying close attention to the areas that would become the edge of my box. I extended the foil 8 inches past the areas I wanted to end the fiberglass. I used masking tape to help hold stuff down. once the area was completly covered I started laying down the fiberglass.. being carefull to get all airpockets worked out and that it had a nice tight fit on the areas that will become the edges. I then let that cure fully and popped out the fiberglass piece. I didnt glass in the center on this one cuz its the amp one and I wanted to have access to the wires etc once the whole thing was finished but if this was a sub box I would of made it a solid piece. Once it was out I peeled off all the tape and aluinim foil and cleaned everything up.

will post more pics in a little bit

no offense, but i don't see the sound quality being very good. Air space is needed around the magnet in order to perform. If you inverted the sub, then you should get some good sound from it.
well theres prolly about 1.7 cubic inches of air space inside the box.. its bigger than it looks you guys >tongue.gif> That and like I said before... DONT WANT A LOUD ASS SYSTEM! just nice and clean inside the car

edit: sorry 1.7 cubic feet

Stretched cloth over the whole thing.. I used a lyria type fabric.. its mostly Nylon with like 7% lyria it stretches really far both ways so you dont get ne wringles in it.

Now just gotta lay fiberglass resin over all this and then carpet it... will have more pics soon

there are diffently things I woulda done different but I really kinda like it these are night shots so its not as good looking here as it is in person... I think I would go with 4 10's instead of 3 12s but cant really seem to find a brand that I like how the amps look and the subs and is good quality.. kinda leaning towards the new series of alpine stuff but undecided

99 project version 3.0.. hello SEMA 2010 =)
if you want good amps that look nice, i'd go with audiobahn i like mine even though its hidden under my seat lol
yea I really llike audiobahns subs.. not the flame ones but the other style... but there amps look like poop now.. there older amp style is cool though

99 project version 3.0.. hello SEMA 2010 =)
Hey just wanna know where ya got those mdf rings??
i have an audiobahn intake amp so i have no flames >smile.gif> >smile.gif>
but a pretty cool scoop >wink.gif>
well there used to be a site online that sold em but I can't find em nemore.. I ended up going to home depo and found a precut 11" MDF circle and used my rotary cutter and made a hole inside of that and there was my ring.. there is a site online that sells em but its overseas >frown.gif>

99 project version 3.0.. hello SEMA 2010 =)
humm, went to home-depot an didnt find anything, but me being stupid and goin on sat, when everyone is there tyring to do somthing stupid, i didnt ask anyone, but i just got some half inch mdf, and wil use my roto-zip to make em. I alo picked up more fiberglass and bondo. My so called free project (I had everything to start with laying around) turned into another 60 bucks, looks like i need a job fast, or maybeI could just keep making custom box's... >biggrin.gif>
Man, I just set up the ring after cutting it, and man with out a hot glue gun, it is a bittch .. that just made this project from kinda easy to a pain... but hopfully it will dry and such with the last bit and i can start covering it and finish it up this weekend..
