New Engine or Rebuild? - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #1716 7 posts Started by JiGGa
Should I get a new engine or replace the seals on my current engine, which is going to cost me $500-$600 or get a newer engine?
Anyone know what the price difference will be?
well putting an engine in isn't that bad hell u can prolly do it ureself and go to car-parts.com or that taprecycling for a qoute on a used engine

just save up $$$$ just in case u blow up ure engine then get a used one
im pretty sure ure engine prolly won't have problem hitting 200k
The only part of an engine swap that really sucks is doin all the wiring. Other than that, everything else is pretty much easy.

What are you smoking YO, have you ever done an engine swap hahah guess not, doing a fu**kn Honda

B16A2, which is one of the simpliest swaps ever, on my 95 EX was a nightmare... anything about a swap is

nightmare, that's why I don't want to even touch my Celica.

Toyota's are infamous for their insane engine swaps...

*(that's why I'm still driving around with ST = Geo Prism Engine)

oh i got quoted twice!
i must have hit a soft spot! >biggrin.gif>

no i have never done a engine swap. but in my mind doing all the wiring would be the hardest part since you have to cut and splice pretty much everything. unless your a retard and try it and you know cat piss about the engine and have no references to fall back on. (like a person that has done it)
