I want to make a few exterior changes to my car in the spring and I won't have a lot of money, but I still want it to look nice. I know almost nobody on this site recommends Maaco, but if I want to invest in rims, suspension and other things it might be my best option. Obviously, I don't know much about paint jobs, but I was wondering if I want to keep my car white would Maaco do a good job? I'm thinking white isn't as easy to screw up as other colors lol...what do you think?

as long as you prep it and mask it yourself it should be ok. otherwise expect the worst

are they good @ painting body kits? most body kits that are sold ... are ready for paint right?? no prep required? unless stated otherwise

you want really good quality work when it comes to body kits or else it will just chip and fall apart on the road

don't think white makes it easy. Its just as difficult, and in fact worse, because fresh white paint against your older paint will stand out like crazy. Macco sucks ass, and you might have nice rims, tires, suspension, but if the car paint is chipping, peeling, your call will look like ****, even if you have foose wheels. A sweet paint job with stock wheel IMO is way better than a **** paint job with nice wheels. Shop around, and find a small shop that does quality work, and let them mnow what your budget is.

if your limited on money and you can do your own prep work maaco is not as bad as you would think. I would mask as much as possible as well. I have had 3 cars painted at maaco and they did and execellent job for the 329.00 dollars i spent. it looked better than factory gm paint..... just try to do the prep work yourself

I'd paint it yourself...some Maacos are alright, while others are horrible. Unless you know that your local one does an excellent job, you'd probably be better off painting the car yourself. I've seen and read so many Maaco horror stories.

a buddy of mine had his Talon painted at Maaco. it was changed from white to a pearl blue with silver flakes. the paint looked great... in some places at least. around his rear spoiler on the underside of it you could still see white, and after about a week of being painted, he had at least 4 or 5 chipped spots on his front bumper. you'd be better off buying spray paint and doing it yourself to be honest.
