Squeaking noise - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #17853 6 posts Started by desertwolf300
Ok, but seriously, when the car flexes as in acceleration and decelleration with stop and go city driving, it makes this funny squeaking noise. It's not constant or anything, just a brief "eek-errk" and that's it. It's annoying as hell driving through neighborhoods with stop signs. As the description mentioned, it sounds like dry rubber or something. Could it be any of the bushings or motor/tranny mounts? Any suggestions are welcome.

is it in the back? Because if it is my car does the same thing.

I think it's just cause of the way toyota made our stocked brake pads. I got mine changed and now have generic brake pads and it doesn't make the sound anymore. It was annoying to go through parking garages cause it was so loud in those garages.

I was going cheap but you may wanna get the good stuff. The green stuff.
my squeak was comming from the fender bolts that hold the front bumper onto the fender mine were loose and would squeak after i tightened them the sqeak stopped.
one of the bolts on my passenger door was sliglty loose,a nd when I would accelerate from a stop it would squeak... tighening it up solved the problem.
