Invader front - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #17955 10 posts Started by frosty
I put my invader front on the other night and it sucked trying to do it since the bumper bowed out. I connected the three bolts on one side and my girlfriend helped push in the other side. It made it real hard but it's on and looks good! As soon as my projector headlamps come in I'll have pics posted.

God Bless!

dude your lucky it took me 6 hours....and i have to do it all over agian when i get another one....but it will only take me an hour tops
just wondering.....where did you get your kits from??
small tip to get things to fit right. The invader bumper was designed to a JDM celica. Japan has different crash ratings and our USDM celica's have a little xtra re-enforcement. The front re-bar has a black bracked on both sides. Takes these off and you'll notice that the bumper will fit better. I never notice that it was touch at first, but when I painted my car, things became clearer.
i don't have those black pieces on my crash bar (those are fog light brackets) i did it with a clean crash bar.......but i know more about it now so it won't take me long
Here is a picture of a Japanese celica ST202 with its bumper cover off

looks just like a US celica crash bar. I heard that authentic kits fits nicely ,its just the copies people are having problems with. I dont know how much experience in auto body you have ,but taking it to a good body shop and having them do it may be worth the price if it saves you stress. the GT four crash bar is much smaller.

It appears that the GT4 front bumper cover is not as big as the regular bumper cover. looking at the high beam scoop

sweet^^^^

but bodywise i am pretty good.....not teh greatest and i've tought myself everything and bein doin it for a lil less then a year.....my first project was a fiberglass bumper scoop and for a first time try it was pretty freakin nice.....bodykit is relativily easy to put on
I think the hardest part is the 3 bolts connected to the fender. It's hard to get up in there.

I ordered my kit from 97celica (http://www.6gc.net/members/537) He is an authorized VIS racing dealer. Anything you wnat from the vis racing site he can get for you. (and at some pretty good prices!) You'll need a paypal account to do business with him.
