Tire pressures - 6G Celicas Forums

What pressure do you run your tires at?.I had a flat the other day
and the local garage plugged it with a rubber pellet and sent me on my way. I thought the tire looked over inflated so
checked it a couple days later, it was at 65 psi !!
I normally pressure at 35psi for 17" rims. toyota's psi
standard is for a 14" rim, so do you ideally alter it as the rim gets bigger?
it should say the psi you should use on the side of the tire. but as for my stocks i use 40psi,

i use 35psi on my 17X7.5

I think the fronts should be higher than the backs because of the weight difference between the nose and the rear. That is only if your super picky about that kind of stuff. On the track I'll probably set my tires (on 17x7) to about 44 PSI only because you want that sidewall stiffness and also the roads on the track are super smooth. On the street I have it on about 36.
just remeber that air expans when it get hot so don't over inflate

I keep mine at 36 psi as well. You're lucky your tire didn't burst at 65psi.
That would be funny, I'd laugh;)
Popping tires is very dangerous. My mom's friend over-inflated a tire and the tire popped so loud that it made him go completely deaf.

New Toyota project coming soon...
Zoom you have a sick sense of humor! I go with 35psi (17x7)
On my last set of tires (Yokohama Parada 215/40ZR-17), I kept the pressure around 40psi because that's what the manufacturer recommended. However, they wore unevenly (the middle was gone before the sides) so I suggest around 35 or so.
i've got 36...and ya are pretty lucky ya dind't have a blowout...those freakin' things suck
Yeah, mine sit on 38 front and 36 rear...
Interesting that us guys from Syd in OZ run the front higher.

S**T roads, thats why >mad.gif>
