I read that the UK ones did and the JDM ones didn't. What about US ? was it on option or not offered at all ?

No I really don't think that was ever an option for our cars.

In the UK they were fitted from '96 on. There's no button for it, they're either on all the time or maybe linked to the rear screen demister, and there's nothing on the glass to show. The only way to tell is to take the glass out and find the wires on the back.
