How much is too much to pay? - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #18316 10 posts Started by Coomer
Today I finally found a ST184 that has the rear disc brakes still intact. >biggrin.gif>

The rotors are rusted very badly(Anyone know if very rusted rotors can be turned and then used?), but the rest looks good. I asked the guys up front how much they wanted for both sides and they said $100.

Is that too much to pay? Also, can very rusted rotors be turned and then used? If not, then I'd have to get new rotors. I'd be replacing pads at all four corners as well, so the costs would add up.

New Toyota project coming soon...
if shipiing weren't more then my discount then i'd get them for you pads also woot for working at advanced auto trash

you can actually save a decent amount workin there
but nah that isn't expensive at all.....100$ for both side>? way cheap

just get newones if anything don't turn rotors that weakens them
I think I may just do this then. Shucks even has the yellow caliper paint on clearance at one of their locations here. >biggrin.gif>

Edit: Playr posted before I finished my reply. Thanks for the info on turning rotors. >smile.gif>

New Toyota project coming soon...
I would pay $100. I got mine for $55. I painted the pad retainers saturday(high temp flat black), and am painting the calipers next saturday (ceramic red) I also ordered a set of front and back cross drilled and slotted rotors with AXXIS Metal master pads. =$305 shipped from Cali with a zinc plaiting. I can't wait to get them installed. (get them installed because I don't trust myself with brake work.)
i am getting my whole rear setup for 100. but i am gunna put crossdrilled and performance pads on. so thats gunna jump the price.
yeah you can still get the rotors turn as long as they havent been turned b4 or have just not alot of time....my friend just got his and his car was sittin around for like 2 years and were rusted to crap...but they truned them and looked like now...new pad and sanded and clean them up from the outside..then painted and looked like new
yea but newones are always a good idea....
I have front and back cross drilled and slotted Zinc plated rotors coming in on the 1st. Also, I have Axxis Metal Master pads coming with them. $305 shipped from cali.
