how do you make the back of the trunk/bumper stop rattling? its not the licence plate either. i really dont want to buy dynamat. is it a simple tightening of a few bolts or stuffing some foam btw 2 fenders or what?

no. my oldest brother glued alot of these little foam cube things(they were like 3"x3" or so) to his trunk and took the license plate off and glued em there and screwed it back on, but it seemed to work pretty damn well...i mean there were like hundred of the suckers....it rattled a little still but it was Alot less than before. im Not Too Sure if this would work but try finding some sort of foam things and glue em there and see if it will work, cheap/free and easy really... oh and i really wouldnt recommend this to others but you dont want to spend the money, so remember this is your car and you are free to do some trial and error... but you wont hurt much, so let us know what you used and how it went if you do it!

You pretty much have to buy sound deadening material. It doesn't have to be dynamat; but you have to deaden it to stop the vibration. It's the plate metal itself that's vibrating; not the nuts and bolts.
peal and seal, home depot about 12 bucks will get u all you'll need. same material as dynamat with Aluminum backing.
ps. u find it in roofing section.

The only thing that rattles is my license plate, so I put two strips of packing foam behind it...I was blessed with a solid Celica, hehe.

Just a side note about foam. Don't stuff foam in your tail lights. My dad owns a car repair shop and I had to change a bulb on a car and the dude had foam all stuck in his tail lights. Definate fire hazard. Just don't do it. >

My License is the only thing that rattles on the outside. But on the inside my hatch cover rattles have yet to tackle that. >

I put two thin sponges behind my license plate and that helped there. I still get rattle from the hatchback cover though. Rest of the trunk and my doors and around all 6" in the car have Dynamat.
