New VW Jetta style - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #18503 29 posts Started by amysmojo
This looks like something that would happen if a Honda Civic & Ford Focus mated.

The site info:
"Congrats, you're among the first to lay eyes on the new Jetta. (And you're looking at the very first official photo of the car.) Not only is it easy on the eyes, it's also bigger, stronger and faster. It even has more cupholders. (Hey, we sweat the small stuff too.)

The new Jetta will be coming to a stretch of pavement near you in March 2005. In the meantime, you can sign up for email updates (if you haven't already) - we'll keep you in the know on the latest Jetta news. Just pick your country, and we'll go from there."

Im hoping its just a bad picture too, ill wait to see more pics
I like the front, same as the GTI. It looks pretty cool. The GTI all around looks pretty sweet. However....I do not like the rear of the Jetta:

I dont think it looks more like a next generation Passat more than a Jetta. Its losing its cool compactness and style.

It's going to be annoying as hell to have one behind you on a sunny day. Dumb chrome.

And what's wrong with all you guys blatantly ignoring the Jetta rule?

which is what???
Wow, see, that's why everyone breaks the rules. It starts with education.

The Jetta rule is that Jettas are driven by hot girls.

At least 80% of the Jettas I and everyone I know see on the road are driven by hotties. It is a severe disappointment, but also funny, when you come up on a Jetta and prepare yourself - and everyone else in the car - for some good scenery. When you get alongside, everyone's smiles go away because it's a guy driving. The guy's sixth sense tells him someone's looking at him and turns to see a carful of disappointed faces. Then he gets a shamed look on his face realizing he broke the Jetta rule.

Definitely a positive change. Nothing wrong with the Germans, but your car is scrumptious. Plus, a Jetta wouldn't look nearly as good in those sweet fog and cobblestone photos. Who shot those?
