What italic text? Can you take a screenshot?

means they are posting and not just reading - hold your mouse over it and it'll bring up a text box.

Yeah I thought it was a cool new feature.
Its on the bottom of the threads - where it shows whose reading the topics. If nobody is italicized then nobody is writing anything at that time. I'm not sure if it includes the Fast Reply though.

It can't include the fast reply. Otherwise all of the names would be italic, because the fast reply is loaded even when just reading the page. >wink.gif>

Yeah, when people hit the Add Reply button and go to the dedicated post reply page, their name turns italic. Also, if someone hits the Reply button to reply to a single post with a quote, their name turns italic. >wink.gif>

Even though the fast reply is closed by default(although this setting is changable in your control panel under board settings), the fast reply HTML code is loaded when the page is loaded, and is simply changed from hidden to visible when you click the fast reply button...notice how fast it is and how the page doesn't ever reload when you click it? That's why. >smile.gif>

Only for me at the moment...it's a work-in-progress and is no-where near complete yet, but once it's done, yes, it'll be an option for all of you. >smile.gif>

You technically could include the fast reply but, you would need to edit stuff and add javascript. The javascript would have to see if there is any text in the fast reply and continuously check the text to properly display the italic username. >tongue.gif>

Well, yes...you could use a JavaScript event and then have the page reload and write the data to the database and stuff...but that doesn't really make the fast reply fast anymore.

You're misunderstanding..

I think I remember seeing this type of feature with the MT (MoveableType). The JavaScript would be dynamic and there would be no page reloading.
