ok, my new deck (kenwood kdc x979) has pre outs for amps, but it has them for front speakers, center speakers, rear speakers, and then also subs. so should i be running one amp per speaker, or just a 4 channel amp for my four main speakers? and then also, what one would i use if i did that? i dont plan on doing anything with amps yet, but just wondering. It also has stuff for SPL adjustments and stuff like that....this deck has everything....lol. i figured it would be a good one to get now to built my system off later, instead of buying another one later and a cheap one now.
how many amps? - 6G Celicas Forums
One amp per speaker would be way overkill. Possible options are one amp for all 4 speakers and one (or two) for a subwoofer set up. We would need to know more about what kind of speakers you have and such to help you though.
you want a 4 channel amp for your speakers, and a mono amp for your subs.

im not doing this anytime soon. i still have stock speakers as far as i know. (new car) but i got the deck to build my system off of later. i was just wondering why on earth there would be so many outputs? could you possibly use all them for comps? it has a section on it just for adjusting sound pressure levels, its pretty cool, even with stock speakers to turn them up, but i dont keep them up, cuz i dont want to have to buy new speakers yet.
