i went to the mall with my friends yesterday and on my way back towards the freeway .. i noticed white smoke coming out of my hood .. i pulled over and opened the hood and it turned out that my radiator had a crack and was spewing out steam or wutevers.

my dad called his friend who works @ a repair shop said that he could fix it but the downside is taht today is sunday and he has to order the parts from a Toyota Dealership. the total cost will be $185 [to me, that sounds cheap, right?] thats including install and labor.

i guess my Q is: should i get an OEM radiator or is there a better aftermarket one out there? i dont think it makes a difference but if i am going to replace it, i want to get a good one.

same thing happened to me a couple months ago. I spent 300 bucks altogether but i got a aftermarket radiator.

Look up Fluidyne and see if they have anything for our cars. Their radiators are the best for cooling. Are you looking for something cheap?

id go with oem. there is no real advantage to upgrading the radiator on a nearly stock engine.

The deal your getting sounds good. Remember though a Fluidyne or another aftermarket all aluminum radiator wont crack like the OEM just did.

where could i get a fluidyne radiator for my car ?? i tried looking thru eBay but couldnt find one for a celica..

get koyo radiator best performance .. the radiator lower your car temp ....also you could actually feel the performance difference ...cost $200 shipped on ebay..bought my on ebay....just to let u knoe if u wanna go performance

Its not fluidyne but its OEM spec radiator with metal tanks. This would probably be a good choice

No pic but I looked aorund and quite a few places offer the same radiator for the same price. It should look just like the one you have but instead of plastic end tanks they are metal which wont crack.

Installation is really a breeze in the 6th gen. Just a couple bolts and 2 hoses and a switch or 2 and it slides right out then reverse for install. No need for bumper removal or anything.
