Which is better? Sway bars or strut tower bars? and why is that one better? and what's the best one of that kind? This is mainy for street use keep in mind......what is best for the Street/Track

depends on what you are looking for.

swap bars keeps your car from leaning (like when you turn your car will pitch to the right/left depending on what direction you turn)

strut bars keep the cars geometry of the cars suspenion from warping. umm think of a flimsy box and when you twist it the whole box warps.

there isnt one thing that is better then another. it all depends on how much you want to sepend on your suspention..

Both are better, they do different things so you cant really compare them.

From having tons of convos, with my buddie and all his friends at the auto-x. I would def say the sway bar is the best. A strut bar your not going to tell to much of a dif. but it will help stiffin the fram. The sway bar will help the car handle a ton better.

So whats the best sway bar? I don't want a really really stiff one, just something that will make the car handle better. I'm consintrating on making the car handle better right now. It's a 94 GT with the sports package. I've already got good tires, and front and rear strut tower brace(brands in profile). What's next on the list? Keep in mind I'm not a rich man here.

The only ones I am aware of in the US are Suspension Techniques.

sway bars tie the bottom of the suspension together while strut bars tie the tops. and thicker does not necesarily mean better. I've heard of gt owners putting on st sway bars in the front to reduce understeer.

you should find a post where someone on this site is selling C-One Sway bars for $194 each.

C-One parts are better than Suspension Technique parts (IMO)

I should also mention sways and tower bars do different things to the suspension.

The four has a read strut brace. I'm in the process of adding a whiteline adjustable ARB (sway bar). This, along with the new rear suspension should stiffen the back end up and further resist understeer.

Is that for one or a pair??? cause you can get a set of sus-tec's for $240 .. and i personnaly would rather go with sus-tec's even if they were more expensive.

Stupid question but wouldnt it be possible to install both?

How would it help/hurt performance?

They're different things and they do different things. They shouldn't be compared in the same class. Yes, you can install both.

As far as actually installing them... suspension mods should reflect personal driving styles. Of course having them both can be a good thing, but there are people who's driving techniques get messed up when sway bars are installed because it changes a lot of the handling characteristics. Strut tower bars more or less reinforce the body and reduce flex. That doesn't neccesarily change handling characteristics. Sway bars can greatly change and improve handling characteristics... but whether it benefits a driver or not depends on the driver and his/her techniques.

I think asking to compare strut tower bars and sway bars is like comparing cams to exhaust. They don't do the same things but it's still a question that can be answered. I like the strut tower bars from what I've heard. That's what I have and I don't plan on getting sway bars any time soon. But as far as the difference you'll feel with strut bars, I think it's way underrated. I felt a good bit of difference. It did just what a wanted it to do. Felt like it stiffened up the suspension/turning of the car.

It feels like your suspension but its not its the frame not flexing as much as it used to.If you decide to get sway bars there is a huge difference like night and day!

Just for the record, I know it didn't stiffing the suspencion. But I thought that would be easer to understand how it feels to someone newer to modifying like that skate4mindgame guy.
