Reseting ECU - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #19087 13 posts Started by Bigmeanbulldog55
Which are the fuses for reseting the ECU? Are they the hazard 10, efi 15, and ecu 15? Or something else?

What do you mean? The big EFI? You know, when I see poeple post things like this it makes me think they do it just so they'll have more posts. How is that suposed to be clear at all? If this isn't the case for you Supersprynt, then I'm sorry. I know it could have been a typo, or just a moment of not thinking clearly.

EFI= ELECTRONIC FUEL INJECTION

and you want to pull the

ECU= engine control unit

pull both and let it chill with out a battery also for awhile and you'll be gravy but i don't think it will help you out much?
What is the lable on the ECU control unit? And I know it won't help much, but every little bit helps.

The question I want to ask is why are you resetting the ECU in the first place?

And resetting the ECU could be done by disconnecting the battery for 15 minutes or so... I just usually do 3 minutes.. >tongue.gif>
I've got ram air and less restrictive exhaust. I thought it might help a little.

I thought that was perfectly clear...

Just disconnect the battery if you're not too keen on pulling fuses...

Damn you hit the nail on the head here - thats how I got my 3500 posts, by answering questions without typing a long unnecessary msg. Kinda dont kno what to tell you you asked a multiple choice question (Hazard, EFI or ECU). I answered this as clearly as it coulda possibly have been. If you needed more details you need to ask prior.

In the "how to artical" it says you have to pull 3 fuses. I just thought most poeple had read that already and would understand the question. If you look at your relay fuses there is more than one EFI, and some are not clearly marked. I did say I was sorry if I miss understood. There's alot of BS on this site you know. There poeple out there who do what I accused you of, and there are poeple out there who post things just to make poeple mad. I think there poeple should be kicked out, but I supose they'd just get back in on a new name anyway, so I guess we're all just going to have to live with 'em.

According to Toyota's BGB you need to pull only the EFI fuse, its not much more specific than that, I'll try to find where I saw it but other than that it doesnt say. I would just disconnect the battery for a minute or so that'll do the same thing.

And I usually try to be as short and clear with any answers I give, I see ur not new to the site so I thought maybe u'd see some others.

just unhook your battery for a few seconds or pull the efi...same thing.

Thanks , I'll just unhook the battery. I've got time to reset my clock. I figured that that would be the same thing, but I wasn't positive.
