Hey guys, I'm going to build oil catch cans for my cars this weekend, and I've been doing some reading, and some how-tos say that you should use a baffle. Someone mentioned using a lufa(you know, the body scrub things that chicks use.), someone else mentioned a Brillo pad I think...I know a couple people mentioned not to use steel wool. Someone else on Honda-Tech mentioned this:

Anyway, what exactly does a baffle in an oil catch can do? Make it so that the oil vapor gets trapped in the baffle and doesn't make it back to the intake?
Also, what should I use for a baffle? I worry about using just anything, because I don't want tiny pieces to make it into my intake and get sucked into the engine, possibly causing damage.
Any ideas guys?

I used one of those poof-poof things you find in The Body Shop. Cut off the string around the middle and voila, perfect baffle material, cut off however much you need. One poof-poof was enough for 2 catch cans. Buy it at a dollar store - literally $1.
