I hope so, I felt bad about putting that if he was serious. I just felt like it had to be said. Cars like that should be burnt at stake, or given to women to teach them how to drive. lol, all you women know that most of you can't drive.
Yes, I was kidding about that 5th gen. But let me explain a few things and see if some of you see my reasoning about what I say.

I think it would be dissrespectful to put some ones car up there when it doesn't have much done to it when there's some other guy out there that's worked long hours and lots of money creating art out of his car.
Most of the people on this site did nothing but pick out the body kit and have someone else install and paint it for them. So they have spent money but have done no work per say. There are a few on this site that have actually done their own work and deserve credit for it. And if somebody actually designs a new front end using fiberglass instead of a body kit, they should get more credit than anyone. But don't put someone up on a pedalstal above the rest of us because they spent money to have someone else do the work for them, because the body kit was someone elses true work of art not theirs.

But I don't think someone should be aloud to buy a 6gc, put a muffler, air intake, and wheels on, and then be rated one of the top rides. You've got to put your heart into it.
It says featured ride, not top ride. A featured ride should be something this site can be proud to say this owner belongs to our site. The owner should'nt have to had spent more on fixing up the car than it originally cost him to buy it in the first place. It could be a modded out car, a completely stock car that someone has taken very good care of, or even a car that has 300,000 miles on it's engine and still looks and runs decently. And you might even think this is crazy but a featured ride could be pics of someone's old car that is totaled out now. Yes, it sounds silly but why not?
The featured ride is on the front page of the site, I see nothing wrong with showing the world what great cars we got. A great car to me is something that that is dependable, low maintenance, looks good for it's age and mileage, and mostly something I know I will keep for many years use.
A great car is'nt how much you have spent on it to make it look like something else. If you want it to look like some other car, you should have saved your money and bought it instead of your Celica. So I think your heart was never into your car to begin with.
I have one question for everyone that thinks that a featured ride should be something non stock. Why is it once someone gets their car all modded out and engine swapped, they decide to sell it? Not everyone has, but it seems like alot have lately. I think we should feature their empty wallet on the front page, that would seem pretty appropriate. >

In my opinion I would be proud to have any of these as featured rides for our site and I will list why:
An older stock Celica maybe a 94 or 95 - to show people that even with age our cars are still running and look good.
An extreme high mileage Celica(maybe over 200,000 miles) - to show the dependability of our cars, how many other car companies can say that?
A Celica with body mods or other countries body styles(GT4) - to show different looks our cars can have.
A swapped motor Celica - to show that we can make our cars faster than stock, to intimidate the competition.
A wrecked Celica - I know it sounds bad but it will show how well designed these cars are. Most of the Celica's totaled I've heard of, the owners usually walked away with little harm.
And even a stock Celica that somebody just keeps cleaned and waxed - to let the people who run across this site doing a search, it just is'nt for modded cars we want all 6th gen owners coming here.
I hope you see my reasoning now, but don't get me wrong I do like some of the cars that have been modded, but to some of us it's not practical for our own useage. >
