ok, im driving down a road going like 60 and then all of a sudden my rpms are going up and down and the CEL flashes a couple times and then goes to a solid light. im like ****, so i pull over and turn it off. im like alright?, so i turn it back on and at idle it like goes from 800 and then bounces to like 1500 rpm. i see some black smoke coming from the exhaust too. i end up driving it to my mechanic and i drop it off there. no ones there till tomorrow, so i wont know anything until tomorrow. has anyone had this problem or know what it is/whats causing it?

i know its hard to tell by judging from my description and not actually driving it, but any info would be appreciated.
