my seat belt wont unlock i cant even put it on any thoughts? Do you thinki sould just replace the whole thing or might their is a reason i cant get it unlocked. It hasent actually worked in like 2 years recent postes made me think maybe i should fix it.
So, have you ever managed to get it unlocked even once? and then had it lock when u tried to put it back on again? or is this one of those: my seatbelt is locked, I've never gotten it unlocked.

Do you mean locked as in when you brake heavily and the seatbelt won't release anymore? or do you mean it's locked in the belted in position?

It's pretty easy to fix a locked selt belt; usually it's just a jam. My mechanic fixed it for free last time while he was doing other work on it.
locked as in stuck in the unbelted position. i took down the top half the part that bolts like behind my head and it rolled up more belt no problem at all. but it wont pull out at all. So i dont think its jammed why would it be able to take more slack no problem but cant pull back out at all, no what im sayin!
You need to ask yourself this question. Is my life worth the cost of a new seatbelt or should I just try to fix this one and hope it works if I do have an accident? Any safety equipment on your car should be left for a professional to fix.

So whats your life worth?
Gas, it's just a jammed seatbelt. nemesis, have you actually tried to examine the retaction mechanism?

Or hell, gas is right. At the most it'll cost you 15 bucks to take it to a mechanic
well put gas/ ill just throw in another one i dont take my car to any mechanic. I hate people touchin my sh**

Question though my seat belt light does not come on does anyone know if that bulb being blown would cause this problem. I know those dash lights usually complete a circut. One time i blew one and my altenator stopped charging until i replaced the bulb.
The seatbelt light comes on when the seatbelt DOESN'T complete a circuit by being belted in.

There's no way the bulb being burnt out would cause ur belt to jam
isint it supposed to come on for a second when you start your car.

Yup. So your bulb might be burned out, but it shouldn't effect the seltbelt. You probably just ignored it for long enough after the seatbelt locked that u didn't noticeit when it burned out. happens with my engine light all the time
