correct me if im wrong but isnt that the tranny ground?

its the tranny ground, or engine block ground, my money is it being for the block the tranny is kinda already grounded though the mounts, where as the motor is sitting on rubber bushings, but I may be wrong.

I think your right. Im at work and can run out to the car to get a quick peek at it if noone else doesnt know off the top of their head for sure
That goes to the top of the tranny. A 14mm bolt holds it on I believe.
yup tranny ground. >wink.gif>

Actually, no, the red one NEEDS to be bolted to the engine block or transmission, the yellow one is going to the chassis.
what could happen if you bolt both to the chassis is you could fry several things next time you engage the starter as you no longer have the main ground from the starter (bolted to the block) back to the battery, current will take the next lowest resistance path - if at all, usually thru the ignition module and/or switch or possibly your throttle cable or shift cable - not a pretty sight - putting 100-200 amps thru an unintended path / he was not kidding about the fire. I have seen all 3 of the above happen.
