I noticed that Tein does not have pillowball mounts for our generation Celica. I also looked at Tanabe and they do not either. Does anyone know of ANY kind of aftermarket strut mount or pillow ball mountfor our cars? Or maybe a different apllication that may fit onto ours?

I am going to be purchasing/upgrading my suspension to a full coil-over setup, however none of the ones i looked at (TEIN and Tanabe) offer an after market strut mount.
Right now i have KYB struts and coil-overs from Nopi. My strut mounts have been ruined twice so i figured if i want to upgrade to full coil-over setup, i probably should keep the stock strut mounts because I feel they would not be able to hold up.

I ask that because I don't wanna waste my time to answer for someone that doesn't even know what they want... ;]
They are out there... but most are overseas. Typically, complete dampner and coil set-ups do come with their own top-mounts, but those set-ups are expensive especially if you're just looking for the tops. My reccomendation would be to call tien or cusco or something and see if they can get JDM ones. The other thing is, sometimes pillow top mounts are specified for specific shocks/dampners, so they may not fit correctly to factory type machpearson inserts.

I know this MOD will be expensive, but hopefully worth it. TEIN only makes the Super Street coil-overs for our car. You say they are out there, but if i get JDM ones will they still fit on my car? And i wouldn't be using factory type macphearson inserts, so i just want the new mounts to compatible with the new coil-over setup. Thats why im waiting to purchase the TEIN's cuz if i find a full coil-over setup that offers the mounts i would rather have them.
What exactly does a pillow ball strut mount do? Does it allow the strut to have more travel on a lowered car or something?
New Toyota project coming soon...

It's basically a stronger bearing surface for use with coilover set-ups and race spring set-ups. On Macphearson set-ups, they also allow a degree of camber adjustment.

On fensports website they have some TRD strut mounts. I emailed them and asked if they'd fit USDM celica's and they said that they should fit. Can anyone confirm that they will.
Ok just so everyone knows i actually did find them. They are onCyberauto, i had to e-mail them for an inquiry and they said that Cusco has a listing for our cars. They are pillowball mounts, they run for about $240 plus shipping, which isn't bad because stock strut mounts are at least $100. So if your interested or had problems with you strut mounts like i did then hear ya go.
is that 240 for what one? we'll need 2 right... for our cars just for the front?
The 240 is for TWO pillowball strut mounts for the FRONT. I believe they offer camber adjustment as well but i am not positive. As far as the rear goes i dont believe you would need to change the strut mounts cause there is no kind of pressure plates or anything like that. Can anyone confirm this or should the rears be replaced as well if you do makor upgrades?

240 that's not a bad price at all. i didn't see them on the site do you have to specifically ask for it?

The rears don't turn... ;] They're just bushings...

THIS IS GREAT
I busted my stock mounts about 2 days after the drop. The stockers couldn't handle that much pressure after 100,000 miles of OEM springs. And I really didn't want to buy new OEM parts when theres aftermarket pillowballs out there. Oh boy i'm happy now.

Yea there not on the site as far as i know. I got a PM from i think it was S C M and he told me he use to work for that site and he knows that they use to be able to site them. So he gave me their e-mail address and the company e-mailed me back and said that Cusco has a listing for my car. Im still waiting to hear back from them how much shipping will be exactly.
Kwanza- yea thats what i thought but wanted to make sure
-Turbo- yea saem thing happened to me but i boutgh new OEM ones after and they still went on me again even brand new.
If theres more people interested in this part maybe this could be a possible group buy. I know getting 3 or 4 people is easy but getting 10 or 15 would be difficult, from my experience with group buys at least. Any opinions?

I personally think this is a crutical part to anybody's full suspension upgrade. If people are spending money on sway bars, then ball mounts should be upgraded too. I'm sooo in on this.

ohh this has to definately be a group buy.. i'm in
today I took off my suspension and my upper mounts were trash. BEARINGS EVERYWHERE
I want to replace mine too. If there is a group buy I am in.
No rush either my car will be parked for a few weeks anyway because I am redoing my full turbo setup

If anyone is missing NASCAR and it's not on Speed Channel, take a fistful of Skittles, throw them in the toilet and hit the flush handle. Instant NASCAR!!!
Check 185performance.com -- I know they had upgrades for ST18x mounts, might have them for the ST20x as well. The rears are the same design between fifth- and sixth-gen, but the fronts are different.
A lot of people with lowered cars have damaged mounts and not aware of that. The handling on my car became poor so I started to look for problem
