I think he is wondering it it will be efficient to upgrade all internals, larger injectors, high compression pistons and running a very high redline instead of boosting... Basically making it a 4age type NA engine that has high end torque with very high redlines... It will work but i am not sure if it would be efficient or worth it. Someone else will have to tell you.
I think he means going with higher compression pistions, bigger cams, better fuel systsm, better ignition. Going for high HP with out useing forced induction.
Gotta come down to the shop man, they'll tell you everything that you want to know. From what ive seen down there, and talking the 5s is alot better engine for N/A purpose's well a cheap way togo, but if your allready changing the motor mounts why not a 3sge? its a beast at what 150-170ish hp?
Clips, he wants to know about building up the 7a cause he dont wanna do a motor swap. Also dont wanna run turbo cause turbo engines arnt usually that reliable for daily driving unless they came stock that way.
the 3sge is a NA engine. I would seriously start with buying forged piston rods and a forged crank shaft and some 11:1 compression pistons. You would want to get a 4age 20valve cylinder head and throttle bodies also and do a head swap since those engines run to 8300rpm redline and also do it on 11:1 compression pistons. You will basically be making a 7age hybrid engine with alot more power and with very reliable rods and crank shafts and a port and polish job on the head and the use of the 4age with high compression pistons, there is no reason why you cant rev that engine up to 9000rpm although ur tranny probrbably wont support those speeds but engine wise that is the best wya to go in fully building up an NA 7afe.
thanks for the info big thats what i was lokin for thank you very much and ill solve teh tranny isue when i come to it unless anyone want to clue me in on that one

Your best hope for a tranny for an A series engine that will stand that abuse would be the 4age 20 valve tranny. Since it handles the speed and power of the 1600cc 20 valve engine spinning at over 8000rpm then that would be your main candidate to withstand the extra. I am sure it is capable of handling alot more power since there are guys that turbo that engine and get alot more power out of it on that tranny. But the head swap on that engine would be a must since the 7afe has an FE fuel economy head and the GE head is a performance head and with the 5 valves per cylinder of the 20valve then efficiency is increased along with performance. Goodluck with all of this man.
You ask a very general question. I rather not indulge if you're not gonna ask anything direct. All i'm gonna say is: biglipzit... you say quite a bit, and although some of is basic researched material and is stuff that has been said before... it doesn't make sense since you don't fully understand what you're talking about. That's all... nothing against you... but some things you are saying doesn't make any sense. I don't want to pick your posts apart... but know what you speak'eth before you preach'eth... ;]
To make a comment... the 7AFE is only as worthwhile as you feel it is. Anybody telling you whether it's worth it or not, is their opinion...

this is my opinion if it was me and you didnt want to turbo a head swap for a 4a would probably be the next big power gain along with shot peened rods and different pistons. And some wiring head achs to get a 7AGE with some good tuning 150 whp or more.Again my opinion but it is cheaper to turbo low boost 5-6 psi
