Whats the biggest rims/tires can you put on w/o rubbing?? Just got it and I'm looking at some 17s. I want to know if i have to worry about rubbing thanks.
I'm pretty sure the biggest is 18.
someone on here is rollin on either 19s or 20s.
As long as you got wheelwell space then you can fit a tire in there. You can always buy spacers to make you rim stick out a little more incase you put on like 22s and they rub.
1equizitcelica has 19's

and dude don't buy spacers to make your well stick out... I would 17"s say look the best
17s or 18s look the best, 1ezquizitcelica goes thru at least like 5 pairs of 19s and 20s a year, but he has hydros..im guessing 19s is the general limit for a celica
I just got 18's and there is a little bit of rubbing when I cut the wheel all the way to the right. The tire size has alot to do with rubbing. I have a 40 series tire, but if the roads around you are not that bad, go with 35's.
so 17s will fit fine, i don't want 2 go bigger than that.
my sig is w/ 17"s and a 1.5" drop...you can fit 18"s...but ya risk denting rims if your roads arnt good..

Even in 17, make sure you get quality rims if you don't want to roll on with square rims in a month....I spent close 500$ cdn in wheels repair last year with 17 Mille Miglia ...The roads are pretty bad around here too.
get 17's with a 215/45 tire...perfect size

I would agree...yours look perfect on your celi....what kind of tire did you get?...just curious...
The last rims that I had were 17's. I had 215/45's with them and I had no problem with rubbing. If your gonna get 17's, I would suggest this tire size.
What is a good size so i don't mess up my speedometer? 17s & 16s
I'm looking at 17s w/ 205/40
or 16s 205/40 or 225/50
thanks
Go see on www.tirerack.com
they give you the right size.
In 17, it's 215-40-17, 16 : 205-50-16, 15:205-55-15
All i see is 215/45/17

I wanted to get 17's but think that realisticly 16's are lighter and would be better since the 7AFE is a bit underpowered to say the least. Can i get 215 wide 16" wheels because other than just looks there is no benefit from bigger wheels unless you have a good bit of power. Im just looking for a wider wheel and think I can save money by going with 16" rims and matching tires.
That's right !!!

You have to spend for better wheels if you don't want to increse weight.
15 usually weight 15lbs
17 often weight 23 lbs...

that's a big difference....

I got 17 that weight 15 or 16 lbs, to keep the same performance, There are a few wheels that are lightweight, so you won't loose anything. On the other hand, take those light weight wheels in 15, and you get 10 lbs wheels, then you gain performance !!!

I think it's about 1 lbs extra if you get 1 inch wider wheel, in 17...that why I have 16lbs whell instead of 15....17x8 vs 17x7...
right now I'm going for show not go, so 17s are good for me. Later down the line when i get some money and my friends have time to help me for a couple days i'll do a swap to a 3sgte but I'll buy some racing rims for that to go to the drag strip. but for now i'll b watching.
Cool, now you've got plenty of choise !!!!
Have fun shopping your 17s !!!
if ur a ST...I'd say dont go over 16"...but since ur fo show...do whatever.

My feelings on wheel size is the bigger the better! How many supercars do you see with 15" wheels? None!
Thats the biggest prob with my celica at the moment I think, the stock 15's make the car look like it is weak. Big rims = Big, Tough looking car.
