Just found out my front left wheel bearings are bad. I was quoted 150$ wondering if i can do it myself for cheaper and how hard it is to do.

If anyone has done it, let me know

don't do it yourself, they need to be pressed on in order to be done properly. I'm doubting you have a press.

Unless you have a bit of experience... I don't reccomend you try it yourself. Like junior said, you'll need a press and I'm also gonna assume you don't have one. It's a bit of a trick to do it correctly too... do it worng, and you've ruined the bearing.

rear bearings are easy to replace but stay away from the front for sure that spindle is pressed on pretty hard.

You could save some by removing the spindle yourself and taking it to the parts store to get the new bearing pressed in, usually around $10-15 to press out the old one and re-install the new bearing +cost of bearing. however, I'd ONLY put an original Toyota bearing in or at least one made in Japan or USA,
the chinese/Tiawan, or brazil bearings dont last (put 3 in my Mazda in 14 months) got so I could have the spindle off in less than a 1/2 hour- lots of practice, finally had to get an original made in Japan Mazda bearing from the dealer - no more problems

Pressing bearings in and out is not that difficult. If you have access to a press, you will save some $$ but not that much. $150 for both is not that bad. One front bearing costs almost $40, so you would only be paying $35 per side for install

If you are like me you would knock it out and put a piece of 4x4 over the new one and hammer it in. I work as a forklift mechanic and we do this everyday(to save time from driving to the shop to use the press).

Seriously, either PRESS >> it yourself or pay the little $$ to have them installed.

No changing front bearing are not that hard..... u can either use a press or a table clamp... but don't use table unless u have the right fittings to press in the bearings ... and u can save money by taking the streeking knuckly witht he bearing to a shope and have them press it in for u....and don't for get they have to press in the bearing and then the wheel hub .... but really its not that hard of a job to do ... (if u have the right toos )
