Suspension question - 6G Celicas Forums

I need help quickly. What's the best suspension setup someone could buy with money. I'm talking right down to completely not having a stock suspension setup left on my car. Please help quickly, and i'll take anybodies opinion. Please, when you argue, and please do argue, explain why you are arguing, and don't just do it for the heck of it. I appreciate it, lets here it 6GC

i want to say Tein SS. it runs about 1200$

Complete coil-over setups are the best. Like Tein, which only make the Super Street Coil-overs for our car. Also i believe Tanabe makes a setup like this also. However this will run you around $1400. If you want something cheaper then go with ground control coil-overs that are about 400 and then you need to buy new struts like KYB GR-2's, which arent that great if you want the best. Then you should change your strut mounts which i havent found for our cars yet. And then there is much more if you want your suspension not to be stock at all.

I have to say it, there is no such thing as best. Some things are just ****, but the rest of the stuff has to match the driver and the way they interact helps, plus conditions. Have to take into accound the amount of rebound and compression, if you like to drive with oversteer or understeer.

In stock form, a front wheel drive car, will always understeer. The only real way to fix that is with a stiffer rear swaybar. As for the suspension travel and handling characteristics, nothing will beat a true coil-over setup.

It really boils down to your budget.If you want a full race suspension, go with one of the Jap coil-over setups. If you want spirited handling and a good road feel, go with an adjustable strut, lowering spring, and swaybar set. It's really up to you.

Or, if $$ is no option, go to the dealer and buy the stock components. >biggrin.gif>

are you talking about the pillow ball upper mount cuz here's the site for em their like 223 for the pair for the front. you don't need aftermarket ones for the rear cuz it's just a fixed mount with a bushing. there was a post about this and it wasn't displayed on some site but i found em. they aren't that expennsive. they even have camber adjustments for it.

I hear that JIC Magic coilovers are equal to/better than the Teins. I believe they run about 900 or so. ~supposively they're muy adjustable

the JIC Magic would probably be great coilovers if you can actually find them for are car. i havent found any at all.

their made to withstand the abuse from lowering the car becuase the stock ones don't hold up as well. and the camber can also be adjusted from under the hood.
