Topic #21176 37 posts Started by lil_lissa
hey everyone

i just joined because im looking at purchasing a 1997 Celica GT convertible. I currently drive my parents 2001 Celica GT all the time, but don't know much about this generation. Obviously you guys must know quite a bit. I'll be asking some (maybe stupid) questions, but i just wanna know everything you know about this gen. My name's melissa, and i'm from ontario, Canada.. is this site primarily americans, or are there some people north of the border? I'm a member of C7Performance right now, but thats primarily 7th gen celi's.. so i figure i should come to the experts >tongue.gif>

anyways, good to be here, hope to learn lots of stuff and get my car pimpin.. haha >wink.gif>

welcome to the boards. you'll find and see that everyone here is most of the time very nice and very helpfull. There are people on here from everywhere. from just the us to germany and such.
nice, thats cool. Does anyone have any idea whether or not 7th gen seats would fit in a 6th gen?

i think i wanna change the interior to leather first.. then possibly a clean looking, simple lip kit for it.. any suggestions?

Well completely different engine from the 7th gen GT but yeah it's got 135hp/145lbft... It's the 5sfe engine. Since you're Canadian I guess you should know that the 6th gen GTS (only released in Canada) has the same engine as the GT.

the bolt pattern is 5x100. Dunno the offset off hand. Umm. Let's see...the most simple lip kits you can throw on are front and rear extensions/splitters. More noticeable would be the Erebuni 404 lip kit. Someone give this lady some pictures.

Welcome aboard, and its good to see another vert on the site. As far as a good site for parts, I recommend cyberbestbuy.com, as I very rerently bought a kit from them, and have been quite happy with them. they do have alot of parts not listed on their site though. Do a search for some of my recent post, and you will see it. I want to see some pics, so post some, especially some body shots........celica......yea celica body shots.........thats what I meant! J/K
