ok... so i tried changing my wheel bearing today, and it didnt go so well... now i can get my brakes back on... i unbolted the whole assembly with the brake pads from the steering nuckle.... then i slid them off the rotor, etc...

well im trying to put them back on, and i cant get them around the rotor... i didnt touch anything on them... how do i get them back on? any help would be great, then i can drive my car to a place and have someone fix it for me =\
lol your calibars will naturally come back together you need to spread them apart... you can do it manually or buy a special tool for like 10 bones at autozone... no biggy...

I sugest a clamp and just close the clamp till the calipar is fully in.
this is a really simple fix...unbolt the top of the calipper .. take the pads out... then put the caliper back around the rotor and bolt it back on... then slide the pads back in close the top and bolt it back up ..... there should be know need to push the piston back since ure not intalling new pads... unless for some reason u pushed down ur breaks while the calipers where off..

he shouldn't need one since he isn't installing new pads.. just has to take them out and reinstall them when the caliper is back over the rotor..

but if u do need to push the piston back .. yea use a c clamp or or a wrench and ur hands and press it back with ur hands.. it should slide back that easy ... of yea don't forget if ur doing that.. to lose the cap on the brake fluid Res..

Use a c-clamp or a big pair of channel lock pliers and compress the caliper piston back in.
,,,Or, take out just 1 pad, slide the caliper over the rotor, then use a screwdriver where the missing pad goes to pry the piston back in. less chance of leaving marks if you have painted the calipers
