I just put in my front tien springs and its making a popping/crunching noise when I turn the wheel. I know that this is probably from not putting enough lube in while installing, but I really dont want to take it all apart now. Some Qs:

Will it go away by itself after a while? Is there like a breaking-in stage?

Is there an easy way to oil the area that needs to be without taking them out?

I didn't even really touch the areas with all of the lube, I just put on some oil and put it back together...There might be a little bit of crap in there... Not sure... what should I do?

not sure, i had this problem when i put my H&Rs in. and believe me they werent in wrong or anything like that. i think i redid the fronts like 7 times just to make sure. but anyway, the noise is pretty much gone. so i guess they just need a little time to fit in and "lock in"

if your concerned, i would definitely take the car to a shop because you dont want springs moving around in your car...obviously very dangerous. look in the front wheel well and have someone turn the wheel. make sure the springs arent actually moving around in their. if they are, you have a problem. but if their stationary you should be ok.

people have definitely posted about this problem before..i was one of them. so im guessing its just our cars and its really not a problem. lets see what others have to say.

After a day of driving I think its getting much better.

Are you sure you placed your springs correctly onto the rubber seals? There's a specific way that seats and if you don't seat the spring and rubber correctly that might be the cause of the popping?

Or, you might of not correctly joined the top mount on correctly either.
If you look at the top mount, you'll notice there's a way that it "locks" into place.
You might be binding that lock.

I think I read somewhere that the springs don't ever sit in right, and they start binding together when you turn. There was a rubber seal somewhere online that prevented that, and someone posted that. I can't remember where though, so I don't help there. >>

nope, thats for Ground Control or similar coil-overs. Evilspeed sells the metal rings that prevent the poping.

Hmmm, thanks for the info. After 2 days of driving it is almost not noticable now, so I think I'm just going to see if it will go away completely by itself. If it doesn't I'll get those rings from www.evilspeed.com.

the rings from evilspeed are for groundcontrol and other coilovers. not springs.
