Project ST204.5 99.88946% complete...
theres no actual characters for these. they only exist in what is known as katakana
yea, the english words are translated into english directly from the way you say them in Japanese using Katakana.

this is also toyota:
豊田
i don't think you can see it very well but this is the version used for a name, person's name. When we refer to the automobile, it is usually
トヨタ
but the other one can be used also. Hope this helps

you are right in that japanese (not japaness >wink.gif> ) kanji for "toyota" would refer to the name, since the word isn't otherwise a noun. however, guess who the company is named for...that's right--the toyoda family. since, in kanji, ta and da both signify the rice field character, we use the kanji set indicated above.

the 天 character is "ten" or heaven; this typically would not be used. the funny thing is, if you want to be more "japanese", then you'd simply keep all your badging english because that's what the japanese do!
oh i don't want to change the badging.......

i was thinking of a graphic design on the car with japanESE charaters in it !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i need a favor in
kanji can some one write that in MSpaint or sumthing

"to the holy one"
or
"holy one"

thanks
yeah, i'm half japanese, although i'm by no means fluent--i've got the conversational skills of a slow middle schooler and know about as many characters as a japanese 4th-grader--maybe even less. not so hot, but then again, those crazy japanese kids are pretty bright (mandatory 2nd language education in primary school and all that)

in any case, i know enough to get by and hopefully enough to help out some people here; finished jpn301 at the university of hawaii, which has a pretty rigorous east asian languages program (as one would imagine), but i've kinda forgotten a lot of it -_-;

聖人 seijin is the equivalent of "saint" or "sage" and, literally, means "holy man"
尊師 sonshi means "holy master" or "guru" in case you want to upgrade yourself >tongue.gif>

don't know what people who understand would think if they saw somebody driving around with this plastered on his car, but that's about as close as i can come up with.

peace
well i wasn't try to direct it towards me
more like the higher being aka god
so hmmm
have to think about this one
god? that's easy--kamisama...naturally, however, this doesn't really refer to the christian god but rather to a higher being...these days, it's used almost interchangeably, though

anyway, the kanji looks something like this
user posted image, but any decent vinyl cutter should probably have a binder full of designs, and one of them is probably this one. if not, a good option is to download the global ime input (or anything off microsoft's website that allows you to do japanese text input in word), type in 'kamisama', make sure that it's the correct pair of kanji, print it out and take it to a vinyl cutter. he can then scan it, clean it up using adobe streamline or something, and then cut you a sticker.

that is, of course, if what you're going after is a sticker. if not, well, at least you have a general idea of what it looks like >smile.gif>

peace
thanks ya probably not a stick more like painting it on
not sure yet

thanks

Ten maybe one of you guys can help me... there is a Japanese Nanchaku form called Goju-Ryu. what does that mean? Any ideas?
history of goju-ryu

apparently, it's a form of karate, so it incorporates many different weapons, not just the nanchucks...
