I just got the game yesterday, I have a low-level Preist on Proudmoore, a a level 8 undead warlock on Sargeras, and a low-level tauren shaman on sargeras. I'm just trying to see what class best fits me. I really enjoy the preist so far. I only wanna play on PVP servers too. I might transfer over, I wanna be a mage for the alliance

When I do have time, which isn't often with the Celi, 19 school hours, and a 35hr work week, I play EQ2...

...but have only started a low level ranger, so nothing to be proud of.

How do preists do in PVP? I want to start a preist or a warrior on Firetree just to mess around. Also, how does a mage do in PVP? I really want to get into raids and such. I think I might do a warrior, they are fun and easy to maintain. But that brings me to my next question, what weapon setup should I use for tanking? 1h/shield, 2h sword? Maces? Axes??

I made a human mage on Firetree and geesh, that server is extremely laggy and not to mention overcrowded with newbies arguing 24/7.

Priests kick ass, if you are a undead priest, you'll kick more ass...and are easily wanted at high levels for instances.

Warriors are fun but horribly suck 1 on 1 right now unless you're against a Rogue, or someone that doesnt know what they're doing. BUT! They are getting buffed up in the next patch, we'll probably see them kicking ass later...so go for it, dont let that bring you down. Not to mention warrior > paladin for tanking at high level..you'll be wanted to take damage, so get AC/HP over weapons.

Weapon setup, something that keeps the monsters attention, If you go orc, try and go axe. They get a higher axe hit rate, for anything else, I'd probably say 2hed sword or whatever you can find with a high +sta and +str and very nice damage...i've seen a couple. You get more stats out of a 2hed then 2 1heds, I think its +16 max with 2 1hed, and +20 max with 2hed. Dont quote me on that though. Not to mention warriors look badass at high end...particullarly Orc and Tauren.

Orc = Axe Mastery

Tauren = High HP and War Stomp ( stun everthing around you )

It's all on preferance.. Tauren's are great warriors, but so are orcs. Undead warriors look like morons, I dont suggest being one...and trolls seem like a weaker version of a orc, they make better priests/rogues. But Go undead if you're gonna be a priest/rouge...you'll be immune to fear.

Well I seem to have found a niche with an undead mage on Sargeras. I might want to give a priest a shot, or Tauren warrior to tank with.

If you start a Priest, come to Gorgonnash. I just started a warrior and is currently level 7, I have almost 500 AC...a priest would = ownage on a high scale..plus I can get you into a Teamspeak guild, if you have a mic, you will have some fun. We're crazy on Teamspeak, damn pot heads

Forgot to mention that 1hed swords/maces + high defense shield = good for tanking and instances. But for small partys, you might want to go with 2hed sword, so you can actually help damage and kill. 1hed = more rage which = more skills. Only thing with Dual weilding is you have to deal with misses all the time and lower DPS at some points.

and what exactly are instances? Is Gorgonnash PVP?

Very hard places. Only your group are allowed inside, you wont find any other groups inside. The good items drop in instances. And yes Gorgonnash is PvP, its the only realm I will play in.

I'll play, what race are you...so we can fight together. I can get to level 7 pretty quick

edit: might want to try Tauren Shaman instead...suggestions?

pretty nice choice, you wont be disappointed with a shaman..Tauren makes it good for pvp too, warstomp is a plus

For those that aren't familiar with World of Warcraft sites, let me recommend heading to the WoW Vault. The vault is great for pretty much everything. Those of you that aren't too familiar with the whole game, you will get talent points and the WoW Vault has a talent calculator + premade talent templates for you to use.

For the person that asked about priests, well priests are very favored if you are a above average pvp'r. Most people favor the 'shadow priest' and the combos that are available.

Personally I like mages and have been working on a few on different servers. If you're ever on 'Perenolde', 'Firetree' or 'Spinebreaker' and come acrossed a human mage 'Mysterio' that would be me. If you're on Perenolde and come acrossed an undead mage 'Mystico' that would also be me.

If you wish to be a mage I recommend this:

You can find 4 common types of mages throughout the World of Warcraft sage.. arcane/fire, arcane/frost, fire, frost... However, there are a few that like to mix fire and frost but I do not recommend this.

Arcane/Frost - Recommended for melee types of battles. This will be a slower and more of a control match. This is recommended as an end of game type of mage.

Arcane/Fire - Recommended for quick 10-20 second battles, etc. This will be faster. This setup is recommended for battling spellcasters.

Frost - Please refer to 'Arcane/Frost' but also this is less of an onslaught of damage and more so a prolonged controlling match with damage over time effects. This is one that is also recommended for an end of the game type of mage.

Fire - This I cannot comment on as I haven't bothered to read up on this nor try this setup out. I will note that I have not seen this setup favored too much.

Fire/Frost - This setup is something that you shouldn't do but you are the player and you can do this if you want. Fire and Frost are the 2 major types of spellcasting you do and you shouldn't mix them together as you're taking away from the other.

Never played but sounds intresting.
