just tryin to get this straight.... the bodykits for the coupe and convertible will both fit right? and the hatchback is the one that wont fit correct? help me out guys.. what choices do i have as far as finding a bodykit for my convert? im thinkin bout gettin the oem extensions and just gettin a front bumper and sideskirts from a differnt kit.. how would that look>?

yes, coupe and conv are compatible. Hatch is different. Body kits, do a search. There are plenty of vert owners here that have posted stuff about kits.

the front and sides are the same for all. unless your getting a lip, then it will be dif for 94-95 then 96-99. The rear on coupesand verts are dif then hatches, so you would have to get rear spliters or sokmthing.

Doug got it right. I might add that some have modified the hatch rear piece to make it work on a coupe / convertible. There is a picture of a red coupe floating around with a 404 modified rear that looks damn good. I am sure Ghostdog or Coomer could post it up in a few seconds. (starts stop watch)

Cut the ends off, put them in place and then fiberglass the gap. Your basically extending.

dont forget you will have to have a piece to extend, mate the seams, sand it smooth, make sure you get the correct contours in the extension, prep and paint the whole bumper. Easy / Difficult is subjective and just because madmods can do it "easily", doesn't mean everyone can.

thats something a body shop would know how to do thoguh coreect? thats the kit im looking at getting for my convertible and knew about the extensions, but if i take the kit to the place im gunna get it installed and painted at, they'll know how to extend it correct?

I agree, you got to have experience with fiberglass. I learned how to work with fiberglass after watching some videos. Its really not that hard to work with, but it takes some practice.
