Rubber trim around headlights - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #21979 20 posts Started by RbrtNdrws
Hi,
I was just wondering what I could do about my headlights.

There is a black rubber trim that goes around all of them, and they seem to be coming off.. Would ordering replacement trim fix this??

The trim does not appear to be broken, its just loose so I always push it back in a bit...

Thanks,
Rob
they just do that. if it really bothers you, you can take off your front bumper and adjust the clips that hold it on. although they will eventually come loose again anyway >wink.gif>
or superglue them and forget about it.

you talking about the rubber around the headlight? mine started coming off too, used super glue and it worked perfectly.

Thanks guys that was fast .. Um I'm not sure if I want to superglue it.. What if I replace the headlight like jgreening said... Will I have to order a new one? (the rubber piecet that is..)

I'm glad to know that it's a common problem, I thought it was maybe cause my cars 11 years old..

superglue it. on the RARE event that you need a new headlight (which is very unlikely unless you are in a wreck, in which case you'll probably need a new seal anyway...), the trim is only 8 bucks. i had to order some for my high-beams not long ago.

Happened to me to, i just carefully put it back and did what the other ppl did

Go leafs go
i used a rubberized glue......

holds it in place, but you can get the rubber rings off if ever you want with a sharp blade !!!!!

Life is for living, and you don't get a second chanceTake care now !!
Nope, they will remove easily if you use superglue, i useed it, and still removed myne easy (ruber surounding) Superglue wount stick to glass too hard, but it will help to hold the surounding in place.

heh am I the only one that just ripped mine off when they started coming loose? I think they look good w/o them... well I still have the two inner ones on just not the two outer headlights (low beams)
Just leave them off, I dont have any on my`n, looks cleaner without them.

Amy(amysmojo) also doesn't have them on her car.

I glued mine on using spray on 3M glue, and it's worked perfectly for me.

New Toyota project coming soon...
rubber glue gun >biggrin.gif> thats what i used and it hasnt popped up to bother me since

if your missing the metal clip that holds the ring in place just get a flexible piece of metal and bend it in the same way and it holds it in place, well at least for me >smile.gif>
thanks guys, I'll try supergluing it..

Also, Coomer I sent you a PM but I dont know if you received it.. I had a question about something.
