clear third brake light - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #22001 11 posts Started by HaRv3sTeR
wondering how it would look...ne1 can photoshop it plz?

also wondering if it's legal (with red bulp) and do those bulps exist in red

another question: what kind of bulps are they?
no, its not legal. Brakelights must reflect red when an outside source of light is shined apon them

You can get red bulbs... ;]

Umm... I think Ray (kuya) had pictures of his car, which did have a cleared 3rd brake light. Look in the "complete swaps" topic in the engine forum.

i think that just applies to the main brake lights. the third brake light is more of an auxiliary light. i think its ok to be clear then shine red when braking.
it is perfectly legal. i believe the reflective surface law applies only by meaning that you have to have SOMETHING in the rear that reflects red, in this case, that would be your taillights. as you can see, the supra came with a clear 3rd brake light, which is the same light kuya used (supra 3rd brake light) molded into his hatch:

How hard is it to place a supra 3rd brake light in oure celica? will it require a lot of work?

It's a lot longer than ours. Looks slimmer too. If it isn't, you'd need a dremel, a steady hand, the correct measurements, and some type of seal.
