Well, I'm sort of new here, but I have 2000+ posts on two other forums.

I have a couple comments/suggestions..

I'll start off by saything that I really do like seeing a sig, it makes it easier to identify people - so I don't want to remove all sigs. However, I don't like full page sigs that I see more than once per thread. Especially here, thats what your profile is for.

I also saw the thing the other guy said about scripting the sig to once per page, well, at my other forums (automags.org and pbnation.com) it was a courtesy to only show your sig once per topic..

For the images themselves, one uses avatars with text only sigs (no quote tag). The other uses guidelines for the sig, and doesn't have an avatar/sidebar. (rules thread for reference)

• Sig images may NOT be larger than 350 x 175 pixels. ANY image found taller than 175px or longer than 350px will be removed. Images must be under 20k.

I'd like you to consider something like that here, maybe you already have. I hope I didn't overlook it, if I did, I apologize.

Just makes it a little easier to read and a little easier on 56k'ers.

350*175 is more than a little small

Mine's more than a tad larger than that, but still clocks in under 20k.

I'm always preaching that sigs should be smaller, but people typically don't read/care. And I don't have time to enforce stuff most of the time.

I just was going to copy my old sig over, and saw they disabled sigs.

The other big thing we used was tables - for example, coomer, I had a banner, then three lines of text to the right. The text wraps, and it would be half the height - which elminates some scrolling.

Regardless, heres one that's 373*118, its not that little:
