Rear Speakers - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #22078 9 posts Started by Scooby_Doobius
Hi I was wandering how you get the back panels off so you can install new rear speakers in a 94 st hatchback.
If you dont mind working in a small space, just remove the grill/speaker cover. It pops right off. If you want the whole panel removed:

1. Pull down rear seats
2. Remove 2 screws connecting plastic to hactback plastic panels
3. Pop off panels by rear seats and your done

Someone please add anything else if I'm missing something.

he's completly right, and to pop it off you use a flat-head screwdriver. it's the best bet.

how about in a convertible?
you just need to Carefully pry it off...... thats what do to mine anyway.... a flat head screw driver should take care of it, but as i said be carefull to not break anything...

for my 97..there is a big gold screw near the speaker where you have to screw it out to pop the whole side out... and plus the other two that was mention...
never checked for screws... never really cared for the rear speakers.. if there are screws back there then my bad! please check for them before you do any prying >tongue.gif> , me thinks i should replace them if mine are gone..

There's one or two screws way deep under the panel that are very very hard to get to, and when you do, make sure you have a magnetic tool. It would almost be easier to take out the whole back seat. I had a hell of a time because of those screws.
