i don't know Mang... Wanderlei is about the most "pure" athlete I have ever seen fight. he is Muay thai, it isn't pretty, it's effective. However, Victor Belfort beat the hell out of him one time in the UFC...
And yea... not a fan of UFC. I like pride fighting. >

I'm not generalizing the sport... I'm just saying you know... most of those guys won't cut it. I know real fighting... got plenty of scars and injuries also... ;] As for muay thai, which is literally "Thai Fighting/Boxing"... it's a very straight foreward and rigid form with ONE objective: destroy your opponent with singular powerful blows. A bit to ordinary for me... but as one who observes the forms, the tactics, the flaws, muay thai is easily counter-able. It's just too bloody slow, and a fighter who's good with spacing will destroy a muay thai stylists...

Maybe career is too strong of a word. I'm in college to be a Psychologist, so I'm not making money at that. I have fought for money, but it's not a job. And I have raced for money, but it's not a job either. I'm sure there is a word for what they are, maybe hobbies.
Career is too strong of a word for just about everyone in our age group (17-28)... I fancy myself a perceptive person and also studied psychology. Before you can really do anything... know yourself. There are wants, needs, cans, and cannots... Self evaluation is only but a few seconds before "why" and "why not."
