i reded out my tails and i didn't take it off, but its only like 3 little screws so it doesn't really take much to do it right.

i used 2 pairs of pantyhoes a couple years ago.
i have 1 pair on my probe.

i smoked out my tails.. and i suggest removing them from the car just so that there aren't any mishaps... and make sure to tape up the reverse light.. and to add a lot of clear coat paint when you're done... makes it look soooo sweet when it's shiny

Most of you guys went right over the white correct?, or does it just look like that cause of all the darkness around it?..... If so im debating on taping up the white or not >cwm13.gif>.
Just tape and spray takes ten mins and looks very cool (see my pics)

I taped over the white....I guess you have to think about which way you would like it better >tongue.gif>
I had to paint my taillights twice because i didn't use enough clear coat the first time. Testor's Window Tint Paint is not meant to be out in normal weather conditions and sunlight. So, you need to make sure that you put many layers of auto clear coat (I put about 8 or 9 layers just to be safe).

It really sucks when you find the paint starting to peel and you discover that you need to sand it down and do it all over again.

I first tried tinting (smoke) the rear lights. It wasn't right for me plus I didn't want to give the cops any reason to pull me over. I ended up redding the orange/amber part. I think it looked great. I did mine a little bit different than everyone else though.

I do not have any of them on my car (recently added JDM tails) after I clearcoated them but I think you get the point. The clearcoat is very important. Adds a shine that looks great.

just for reference

thanks batman... >biggrin.gif>

another request...

a pic of silver celica with and without tinting...

I'm asking because my friend asked me if he wanted to do mine and i wasn't sure how it'd look... just wondering what the difference would be... thanks!

My how to cliffnotes version
get vht niteshades
remove taillights
lay them on newspaper
(optional) I masked my reverse lights cuz i didnt want them tinted
Give it a few coats, as dark as you want
let it sit
cover it with clear coat for that nice shine

Mine seem to collect more dust now though. But I love them.

tinting makes cars sexy.

hey batman, could I get those from home depot?

you can get them at a hobby shop or at a Michael's craft store. It is easiest to get them online because it's usually cheaper. Home Depot won't have them.
