stock is +38

you should be ok with 5 mm in either direction

As long as you stay with 7.5" wide wheels or under. Anything bigger and you will need to watch the clearance on the inside of the wheel. Coomer has posted a picture of a white car with 8" rims and a 35 offset and I would bet that thing barely clears.

also i would recommend 225 or less tires, i got 235/45/17's and it barely clears and the way it is now i can't even drop my car at least until i change tires.

actually stock offset is +40, its stamped right on the back of the gt's rims >wink.gif>

I have +45 on my car and they look great.
i have some rims offset of 42 and they don't fit.. the lug nuts barely go in a little only..they are 17x7...i was thinking of drilling them so the lug nut can go in deeper so the offset would be smaller...is that a good idea??..
my rims are +42 and they fit fine. maybe the lugnuts just aren't fitting in the sockets properly? I couldn't use the stock nuts on mine so I bought some generic 'tuner' style ones

Drill it? I would buy some tuner lug nuts like Ghost Dog mentioned. If you do not have enough of the lug showing after you put your wheel on, you need one of two things to make the wheels work: (1) new nuts; or (2) new lugs. As for the 45 offset, it will either interfere with the strut housing or it wont. I don't know about 45. If it does, then you have to buy yourself some wheel spacers.
