Why can't 20s fit if some of you guys got the 19s to fit. Dont tell me they cant, prove it to me. Has anybody actually bought some and they didn't fit? I want 20s
20 inch rims - 6G Celicas Forums
1exquisitcelica or whoever has 20" wheels on his car. He said he had to get custom suspension to get them to fit. I can't remember if he's on bags or hydraulics though.

I think 19's would look great, but anything over that *might* end up looking kinda silly on our cars. But hey, its always good to see something different....so by all means try it if you want, madmods. >

3rd gen ST205 3SGTE - Alive and boosting.
i just want to know what size tire to use for speedometer to be still a bit accurate
- 15 inch rims - 195/55/15 tire size ( orginal)
-16 inch rims - ??
- 17 inch 215 /45/17 - ?? or 205 / 40/ 17 or 205/ 45/17
- 18 inch ??
19 inch ???
20 inch ?? !!!
i have 17" but want to go for 18" so what is the tire size ??
I have new 17's with 215/45/17 tires on them, but there about 1.5 inches bigger diamitar then my stock wheels/tires that are on now, when i bought them they assured me that they where the right size for my car, but my current wheels/tires make my speedo accurate how can a bigger diamitar tire be ok, ( i know my speedo is right because i drive by those radar guns that post your speed and its dead on. I think 40 profiiels are right for 17's not 45, and that means that 35's are right for 18's.

former celica owner.
Why do you want to put 20's? That's way too much for a celica...even if you think it will look good it just sounds silly. In my honest opinion i think 17's are enough. Not because i have 17's but because i care about performance. Otherwise if you're not into performance as much and are going for looks then go ahead. Even so i believe 18's are the max on our cars...i'm sure they'll look awesome.
Well I had 19's on the girl. I was running a 35 series tire and still had to do some custom work on the back to get them to fit. 20's would fit if you ran a 245/30 with a 38 offset. But boy... that is tight and you still gotta take care of the fender lip on the back quarter panels. Also, 30% of a 245 doesn't give you alot of room. Viper's run 30 series but its 30% of a 300+ size tire which is good enough for them. Hope this helps.

i have a friend selling his 20's. IF i get the celica back im gonna pop a couple on and see what the rear does.
I have 215-35-18x7.5 now, not sure of the offset, but the rear tucks and i can barely get my pinky between the lip and the rim.
If anything, ill just have to dremel out a lil of the inside lip.
The 20's r 8.5, but i have seen 19x9.5? on a celica with bags.
im wanting to know cause i might do it too. im more into looks then performance.

IMO I think 17 or 18's are perfect. 19's are okay, but 20's? That's a bit too much for me. But, if you like it and want it.. go ahead. Everyone has different tastes and likes different things.

I'm with you...I want to get a hold of some cheap, lightweight 16" wheels(Slipstreams maybe...I gotta contact Rota and see if they have the right bolt pattern and offset) once I get some money. >

16" rims are the way to go for performance my 18" suck for grip and ride if i could get a light weight 17" with slicky tires i would do that
people go head and put 19's 20's on stock brakes hope you can stop when you need to
people go head and put 19's 20's on stock brakes hope you can stop when you need to
yea your 3sgte is cool but ill stick to my 7agte
well, if theyre putting 20's on, theyre into looks, and they wont want stock brakes showing through such large tires....at least i wouldnt, so i think most of the people would upgrade them as well....
